I dunno. I am not privy to that info.

Obviously you want him to be there, but if you just want to draft someone who plays the slot really well or is a great red zone target, they have their niche figured out.

Well, whatever they’re doing at WR in the draft doesn’t seem to be working.

He also played in the PAC 10, which most of the teams play very soft. I know I'm generalizing this, but it is mostly true.
I thought that too.

If he's a physical guy in a shit conference he's probably fucking useless. Look at Corey Davis. He sucks at this level and abused a bad conference in college.

I'm hopeful jjaw is one of those receivers who really has something click going into year two. It's not uncommon for wr to struggle year one.

I mentioned earlier that I try not to judge rookies too soon, but we had practice squad guys coming up outplaying him down the stretch - many games he looked like a fish out of water... and he literally dropped two game winning passes during the regular season. No excuses next year.

I hope someone follows Derek Barnett around the Eagles facility with a tablet that just plays that dumb roughing the passer penalty he got. Possibly cost us 4 points (doubt they run Lynch on third and goal from the 10).

That was a very costly penalty. Should have got his money's worth and speared Wilson with his helmet the way CLOWNey cheap-shot our QB.

Not surprising - he's tried to stay professional and not say anything about it all year but now that the season is over you knew this was going to be an issue at some point.
It looked like it when he let everyone get deep. We need a true centerfielder.

Wade Phillips anyone? Rams let him go. I'm not sure if he would be an upgrade though over Schwartz?

That’s ok. Appreciate the years. But they aren’t putting more money into you at this point. Move him for what you can get and use FA and Draft on Safety.
Agreed

Your prayers may be answered. the Browns have asked permission to interview Schwartz for the HC job!

I really like Jenkins. they use him more as a LB/DB. McLeod is the weaker one.

I agree with everything you’ve said here. But we can’t fall into sentimentality at this critical point. He makes $7.6M next year and us $6.1M in dead cap.

Im presuming here that they have not had an extension yet because he has not been willing to settle at a reasonable number for an extension for a guy his age. So he is leveraging what he can to try to get one more best case pay day. And he has been pretty damn professional about it.

It makes it a damn shame as he can still play at that top level for spurts. But who knows when that drops out? I wouldn’t extend him but offer to work with him to find a best case if it is not us. I’m sure we’ve put offers on the table.

Schwartz was trying to leave for his own head coaching job and that's why he didn't care enough about Wentz to send any goons after Wilson. Winning would have also hurt his chances for interviews.

Interesting. That is the “of his own accord” thing I was thinking about.

Agreed on that. I was thinking the other day he has a kid coming soon (not sure how soon).

But if he was to have issues remembering the birth of his first kid could that lead to him pulling an Andrew Luck?

so.. you can't even form an opinion if a guy that was just FIRED is better than what we have now, but you can question whether we should go after him? LOFL!

and NO, fucking wade phillips wouldn't be better. he's 72 years old and the rams have been average at best overall under him.

2019: 13th overall; 17th in points per.
2018: 19th overall; 20th in points per.
2017: 19th overall; 12th in points per.

under schwartz, same years..

2019: 10th overall; 15th in points per.
2018: 23rd overall; 12th in points per.
2017: 4th overall; 4th in points per.

on average; rams 17th overall, eagles 11th. rams 16th in points, eagles 10th. the rams clearly have more talent to work with and were something like a combined +16 in turnovers compared to the eagles in that time frame.

so, keep pushing schwartz out. guys like wade phillips with this defense would have us ranked in the bottom half of the league in yards and points. boggles the mind how so many fans are dying to replace a guy doing a FANTASTIC job and trending up with dudes who are getting fucking fired or shown the door.
