Schwartz isn't going anywhere. And neither is Groh, especially with the finish to the season. If anything, I'd like to see them add to the offensive staff.

Some may kill me for saying this but an experienced guy like Bill Callahan or Pat Shurmur I think could take that Frank Reich role on the staff as another voice in the room. Neither might make good head coaches, but they are excellent assistants with previous head coaching and playcalling/game-planning experience, and would definitely upgrade the future potential of the offense moving forward.

Schwartz needs more talent in the secondary. And he needs to release some of the power he apparently has making personnel decisions for the defense. From what I've read, Roseman has A LOT of respect for Schwartz, he is a very valued guy in the building so much so that he has had (some would say too much) input on the personnel decisions to the defense.
Fuck Groh.

Any veteran OC will do. There are tons of them out there. First choice is Jim Caldwell.

I would probably say Sudfeld will be the backup. I highly doubt the Eagles will even consider bringing Foles back. Too much of a distraction to be honest. Eli? his best years are behind him.

Yeah. Mentioning Eli was a joke.

Went right over my head.....LOL

On the Foles front I think the Jags are fucked to be honest because Foles contract is going to cripple them. To be honest I don't think Pornstache is better than Foles anyway.

Not crazy about Caldwell. Not sure who the best option is. Is Patricia keeping his job in Detroit? I wouldn’t mind Darrell Bevell.

I'm not a Groh fan either. But I don't see a scenario where he leaves when you know he is going to get some credit for how they finished the year. I'm cool with Caldwell, but I like Shurmur because he has history with the organization... something that resonates with Lurie.

I am willing to bet that Pederson took over the game planning over the last 4-5 games.

My biggest problem with Shurmur is that he is a born loser.

I don’t really want Mariota. Is Sudfeld not the guy?

Foles might be available. Eli will be available. I’m sure there will be some options.

Mariota was handled poorly in Tennessee. I think the Eagles would be a good landing spot for him to develop as a backup, get his career going again, and then maybe you flip him for picks if he shows well. He's got an awesome skill set.

Foles would create too much controversy, plus I think that ship has sailed. Eli is going to retire because he's already said he's not going to be a backup for anyone... I don't think he'd be a great option anyway

To my point that he needs a more experienced option than Groh, but Doug likes him and unfortunately I don't think he goes anywhere.

Some guys aren't cut out to be head coaches. But he has always been an excellent assistant. He would help this coaching staff. We've seen that this staff operates best as a collaborative unit; I'm not saying it has to be Shurmur only but someone along those lines.

NOT Hue Jackson. That guy is a snake and his only objective would be to go after Pederson's job.

I can see that. I also see that Doug is forced to hire more experienced staff as well. I don't think he has full say in all his coaching staff but at the same time if he did not he earned it this year. With what the Eagles were faced with Doug should be considered for coach of the year.

I hope someone follows Derek Barnett around the Eagles facility with a tablet that just plays that dumb roughing the passer penalty he got. Possibly cost us 4 points (doubt they run Lynch on third and goal from the 10).

I like Greg Ward as a nifty slot WR but that's all he is. They need two new starters outside at WR. They can bring back Djack and Alshon next year but they better have some better young players on the roster by opening day.

I don't want Jeffrey on the team, even if they have to eat a lot of dead money. If they can't trade him (and pay 1/2 of his salary), then cut him. He is a poison on the team.

Barnett IMO should not be a starting DE. He is terrible at holding the edge. You saw Seattle exploit him by running pitch plays and other action to his side. He is a pretty good player, and good situational pass rusher, but Howie used a first rounder on him and I don't think he will ever be worth the cost we spent for him.

While I tend to agree, Howie extended him this year to free up some cap room, and in the process I think his salary next year is pretty much locked in now. From what I have read, we likely have at least one more year of Alshon pouting and getting hurt. He was great in the SB run when he decided to play, but he is a good example of a guy you don't want to pay big money to because he gets disgruntled easily. He and Carson clearly don't see eye to eye.

Pederson literally praised Groh and said he did a great job this year. I think he was talking about his work with younger players. Still, even if he helped get these young receivers and backs ready, his work as a playcaller leaves a lot to be desired. He should ideally be coaching the receivers, he was seemingly good at that.

I have to disagree about drafting a quarterback. We BETTER not waste a pick on that spot. We used a 5th round pick on Clayton Thorson and could have had Darius Slayton. Howie needs to draft speed at receiver. It’s embarrassing that JJAW has been outperformed by nearly every other rookie WR drafted near him.

That's less about using a 5th round pick on a QB and more about poorly scouting and using our other picks.

Since DK Metcalf fell a full round, I have to imagine there were some off field questions or other issues about him. But clearly, he looks like a total stud right now, a potential TO 2.0 and we took a guy ahead of him who literally didn't catch a ball.

Come on. JJAW caught one ball. He also fell short of the Sticks and was only helped by a defensive holding call.

But he caught it.

Alshons dead cap hit is nearly $15.7M next year. No way he gets straight cut. Best case is they work out to eat some of the cap hit in moving him. But come on....no one is giving a pick for him with how he has played recently and the lis franc that might need a full season the fully heal.

He’s extremely expensive damaged goods at this point and radioactive. He is hanging on our neck next year. About the worse case I envisioned with him when we signed him. But at least he was a big part in getting that trophy.

My biggest knock on Barnett has been his at times unchecked aggression. We really saw it this year from all the way back in the Green Bay game. You know the coaches have been in his ear about dialing that back. I’m just not sure he can as that’s a hard tendency to train out.

Best case is here as he gets a long off season to think about the 4 points he gave them.
