Yes but my comment was because someone said the Hawks would draft someone and then play them at a different position than what they have always played lol. That tweet then made me think about that.
He seems more like Kelly Jennings versus Troy.

Well I could have swore that we were either taking a QB or a DL but I am warm to the thought of DW and having a paired CB tandem. There are a lot of talented receivers in the league and we really do not have anyone behind Whoolen. Also about Jalen Carter I think the alarming thing with him was that he was passed on like 4x after us so there was something there that multiple teams didn't like. So he could be talented but he could also be a pain in the ass Jadaveon Clowny type that will want a fortune to keep him on the team when his rookie contract is up and you will be forced to trade him.
I think you're right. Even at the draft Carter looked like a fish out of water the whole time. He was the only one that couldn't handle his emotions after he was picked.

Since he won his national title he did some very stupid things and I dont think he has the maturity to last long in the nfl. He has to grow up fast. Philly fans are going to eat him alive.

Philly got our draft....
I did see mocks where we got Carter and Nolan. Crazy to think that they both went so late that Philly got them. I do like our first round though. In Pete and Jon we trust. I imagine they have some diamonds in the rough they fell in love with for linemen.

How long do we wait before we start to seriously consider Levi's? Is he just a hard pass at this point. I like him a ton but we have so many needs to address.

I would imagine we are going after Benton kid from Wisconsin today, but who knows with Pete and John. 2 picks today in the 2nd round , hopefully get some beef.

Witherspoon is the highest this team has taken a corner since Shawn Springs was taken at #3 over 25 years ago.

Witherspoon seems like a very special talent. If anyone would know, it would be Pete.

I am late to the party here on the picks, but that's not always a bad thing. I've had time to sleep on it and let the emotion wear off.

Like most fans, I was hoping for DL at 1.5. But above that, I didn't want the team to miss with pick because it's such a devastating blow to a team when you come away with a bust that early in the draft. I didn't interview Jalen Carter like Pete & John did. They had a chance to sit down with him, ask the tough questions, and get the best possible feel in that short time for what they would be getting. They did that -- not me -- and they decided to go with someone else. That's good enough for me. Witherspoon looks like a fantastic player, and you absolutely have to have at least 3 quality CBs in today's NFL. Hitting on the player is more important than just drafting at a need position for the sake of addressing a need, and last I checked we still have 6 more rounds to fill needs. Value can't be completely overlooked for need on a given pick.

Now at 20 we passed on some defensive players that have been talked about quite a bit as possibilities there, but no one can tell me that WR wasn't a need after these past couple years when WR3 was such an issue and how much of a bust Eskridge has been. TL is also 30 years old and won't be getting better or more durable from this point. Getting the top player (or pick of the litter at least) at a skill position at the 20 spot is huge value IMO. Njigba is a polished, productive player who looks like he could be our slot guy on the first possession of the first game of the season and do it well. He's not a burner, but he's got great hands, great control, runs great routes, and is just always open. What is not to like about that? Maybe there are areas of the team that were bigger needs, but that doesn't mean it makes sense to draft it at that spot.

Some of you guys just get a little too warped if the team doesn't do what you think they should do.

Do we even really need a center more than a guard right now? I would love to see Benton and White in the 2nd, but also like Avila/Torrence/Mauch for the guard position in the 2nd. I don't see Benton or White being available in the 3rd round, but perhaps one of those good guard options and Dexter/Pickens would be available in the third.

There are still 6 DE's that I would be very happy if we ended up with:

I would be happy with any of these DT's:

The only guards I have heard any hype on are Torrence, Avila, and Mauch (who is in the draft as a Tackle but is expected to switch to guard). Hopefully our next three picks are for these positions, but if Pete and Jon go a different route, then I'll trust that they know what they are doing.

One thing we all need to remember is that JSN had 1600+ receiving yards in 2021. He did that on a team that Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave as well.

He has good, not great height. He has good, not great speed. But he's a guy that gets open. That's what matters most.

Joey Hunt is the only C on the depth chart, according to ESPN. we need a center very badly.

I think Evan Brown is supposed to be our starting center right?

For rounds 2 & 3 today, I am expecting a RB as the next controversial position that gets some love a little earlier than maybe expected by most. I think Pete likes to have 2 guys who can get it done on the ground as starters or major contributors, and right now we only have 1 with Penny off to Philly. Multiple times in the past we have taken a RB in the early rounds when it seemed like we were happy with our starter, and I see it happening again this draft.

The obvious hope for today is also more beef on the DL, maybe OL too. Got the OTs last year, now maybe grab one of the top guards in the class.

Here are the top 7 centers in the draft (none have been taken yet). I would imagine one of these guys would still be available in the 4th and even the 5th round. I would be happy with any of them.

One additional thought about round 1: I was overjoyed when Anthony Richardson went at 1.4. If there was one player I didn't want at that spot (among those being tossed around as possible choices), it was him. He's a project, and you don't take projects in the top 5.
