You win at the line of scrimmage, and right now we need some beef upfront on that DL… If they don’t address that tomorrow it’s gonna be a losing season, it’s an absolute MUST they address that and not get cute …

I completely agree. But I do think that what we really need are players that you don't NEED to take early. Carter was a game changer and I do think we will regret not taking him. But guys like Wilson or Smith are not the kind of guys we needed to take. We have those kinds of players. What we need are lane cloggers that can push the interior of the OL. It's possible to find those guys later in the draft. The question is whether they do or not.

A ton of talent was taken off the board the last several picks.
This team really knows how to disappoint on the first day, should have known better than to think they'd do the right thing

It really boils down to Carter for me. If he is the stud that many of us, including me, think he will be, then they screwed up bigly.

OTOH, if he is not then I think the Hawks made really smart BPA picks. Getting the top CB and top WR in the draft is usually considered a coup.

Both our first round picks made the Hawks better just not in our Big needs area. CB at 5 was a shocker because they still have a developing Brown, Bryant and Jackson to pair with Woolen that I believe in I guess more than the coaches.

Didn't someone link a Mock draft a few weeks ago that had the Hawks picking CB/WR with their first two picks? I swear to god someone linked a mock that did just that. The same two players also and had the Texans picking 2nd and 3rd.

I think Young and Stroud both turn to busts after simi successful starts.

Isn't he only 5'"11; 181 lbs? Wasn't Troy 20-30lbs heavier?

Yes but my comment was because someone said the Hawks would draft someone and then play them at a different position than what they have always played lol. That tweet then made me think about that.

A lot of fucking whining on this board.

These are two great picks.

Rare times i'm with you.

We might not be getting the needs that we need. But look at the talent, not the need.

I was watching the NFL Network's coverage, like always. First Highlight was a game against Michigan

Within 5 Seconds. Witherspoon had :

A) Diagnosed run
B) Took the right angle
C) Had the RB behind the line before the RB chose his lane.

So he can Play good against the run too.

As much as I hate HATE that lockett is getting up there, It's just fucking Reality........................

JSN gives us 10-15 years of a combo with Metbeast. Which is better then 2-5 which we had yesterday.

Would I have I had Love Nolan Smith, Tyree Wilson or Van Ness, Of Course but we have the luxury of patience. Maybe have their eyes on some guys tomorrow. Maybe we got one

AND we have the Luxury of having a Badass CB and WR Tandems/Trios to go with it.

Got the #1 CB and the #1 WR, pretty good day. Can spend the other 3 top 100 picks getting some O/D line help and we will have knocked the draft out of the park 2 year in a row.

 Maybe......

They would never do something like this or at least to a well known player. There are a lot of politics in football or even sports imagine trying to convince a FA to sign with your team and he is like "remember when you cut JA because he got hurt and left him as a free agent to find work with a torn ligament? Are you going to do the same with me?"

Well I could have swore that we were either taking a QB or a DL but I am warm to the thought of DW and having a paired CB tandem. There are a lot of talented receivers in the league and we really do not have anyone behind Whoolen. Also about Jalen Carter I think the alarming thing with him was that he was passed on like 4x after us so there was something there that multiple teams didn't like. So he could be talented but he could also be a pain in the ass Jadaveon Clowny type that will want a fortune to keep him on the team when his rookie contract is up and you will be forced to trade him.
