Crawford (#1 pick 2022) played his first game in the field this week for San Jose and went 0-2

He pitched tonight. 1.2 innings, 2 hits, no walks, 3 K's. (34 pitches, 22 strikes)

That's good news! He's coming off TJ surgery hopefully he'll continue to improve.

Looking at the Sunday boxscore for Sacto:

Harrison: 3.2IP 1H 3BB 5K. 74 pitches
Jackson: 1IP 3K
Matos: 1-4 2B 1BB...hitting .313 .823OPS
Fitzgerald: 1-4 hitting .302/.940
Welker: 1-4 hitting .286/.572
Wilson: 1-4 HR .206/.641

Harry still has work to do on his control. Jackson is ready. The hitters are intriguing.

I think Wilson has a future in the bigs as a journeyman Util2, but I don’t think it is with us.

José Cruz could be an option for the Giants at some point in 2023 as he is on the 40-man roster. He recorded 28 strikeouts in 18.2 innings with Eugene. His fastball has a lot of movement, but hitters really struggled to make any type of contact against his changeup.

That name will always signify this guy to me, saw him in the Astrodome a few times when I lived in the Houston suburbs. Bruce Bochy was on that team too. JR Richard as well.

Wasn't his son (Jr.) on the Giants for a minute?

Wiki says he was in 2003 ...

But The Baseball Reference can't seem to locate him...

Last night was Luis Matos’ 3rd straight 3-hit game and his 8th multi-hit game in 14 games since his promotion to AAA.

Dude is COMING.

Sluss just floated the idea that DFAing Pedo to make room for Matos, who isn’t just knocking on the door, but damn near kicking it down, is a strong possibility.

I don’t support this “solution” at this point. But it is still newsworthy, imho, that DFAing a guy who was just given a QO is even being discussed.

Did anyone here complain about that move at all here? I don’t remember.

I'd think Joc would have trade value...no reason to DFA

I do like the idea of rotating people through the DH to give them a half day off.
I much preferred having the DH in only one league but that is indeed one of the useful things about it. We used to give Posey those 'rests' when playing in AL parks.
