Having two guys graduate within a few days of each other, and both debut with success, is fun. We haven’t had anyone graduate with any heat since who? Arroyo? And he didn’t last long at all.

Webb and Doval are successes, but neither came up with a lot of heat attached.
Christian arroyos first HR — coming RIGHT to me but my buddy Jerry fails to block the bitch with a glove from deflecting it away from me to a doyerfan. I’m still bitter

He is very available, seeing as he isn't signed with anyone. Maybe he has teamed up with Nick Lowery . . .

The legend of Nick is like the legend of Chuck Norris on the interwebs. Wasn't Nick the first player to pitch to himself, and caught himself, in a game? Dude was that good.

You forget the highlight of that AB.

Nick hit the ball into the 3rd deck, but Nick was ALSO playing CF, and jumped so high, he caught the ball and robbed himself of a HR.

Never seen anything like it…

Wasn't that one of those games where Nick was trying hard not to show off?

I had completely forgotten that. Must be getting old...

I believe Nick created cancer just so he could cure it.

OF Luis Matos so far in AAA: 114 PA
.396/.434/.660 7K%, 6BB%.

Since 2006, in AAA, other batters with a minimum of 100 PA, > .600 SLG, < 10 K%:
1. Ryan Braun (2007)

that’s it. That’s the list

So you are suggesting Matos is on roids?

I doubt they will do this but I'd like to see Vaun Brown moved up to AAA to fill in Matos' roster spot. Let's see what he can do in the PCL.

The RiverCats' current options for center field are Michael Gigliotti, Bryce Johnson, Shane Matheny and Brett Wisely, so they do have enough players to cover that position. Just want to see Brown's bat in AAA.

I think Brown could use a bit more seasoning in AA. But he is an older prospect, so “fast tracking” him isn’t the worst idea ever (and far from YOUR worst idea).

Kyle Harrison tonight: 5 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO

Harrison showed good control of his 4S FB and his slider continues to get swinging strikes in the zone. I’ve read he’s using a different slider grip and that has reduced the number of non-competitive pitches over the past 2 starts.

Yesterday in Sugar Land:

Tyler Fitzgerald, just promoted from Richmond, first game in AAA

2-5 2HR 5RBI -- a solo shot and a salami.

Just sayin....the kids are COMING.

Last night in Round Rock, the pitching was AWFUL. 15-2 going into the 9th inning (Cats scored 4 T9 to lose 15-6)

Moundshatters: Teng, Avila, Newcomb, Helvey, Marciano.

Good performances:
Johnson 2-5 3RBI 2R, third HR
Alvarez 2-3 BB RBI 2R, second HR
Wilson 2-2 2BB R, still only hitting .232
