The SFGiants have released middle infielder Arquímedes Gamboa. He was signed to a MiLB deal last winter and posted a .686 OPS with the River Cats in 2022.
Interestingly enough, he was the trigger for my looking into older prospect lists (Not knowing he had been released)The SFGiants have released middle infielder Arquímedes Gamboa. He was signed to a MiLB deal last winter and posted a .686 OPS with the River Cats in 2022.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t pitch until next seasonCrawford not cleared to pitch, but he is going to take ABs
He could become the next Brooks Kieschnick! And I think he could be a better weapon as an OFer/RP instead of an OF/SP. that combo makes more sense.
I totally missed that he ended his career as a pitcher. I remember him, of course, in part, because of his brother, but I also knew who he was before Roger was drafted. He could become the next Brooks Kieschnick!
What I never understood is why the Brewers abruptly let him go in season. He was hardly a disaster that year. His offense wasn't great but never was it awful and he looked decent out of the bullpen.I totally missed that he ended his career as a pitcher. Learn something new every day.
Per BBRef, he wasn’t let go in-season. He was released in March the next year. What I never understood is why the Brewers abruptly let him go in season. He was hardly a disaster that year. His offense wasn't great but never was it awful and he looked decent out of the bullpen.
I swear I thought this was going to be some obscure brooklyn dodger from the 1910's era... lol.He could become the next Brooks Kieschnick!
My memory was slightly off but it was still puzzling that they let him go. He was hardly a failure in their two way experiment.Per BBRef, he wasn’t let go in-season. He was released in March the next year.
Its a little disappointing that Matos or McCray didn't make the top 100Luciano has dropped to #17 overall (I think he was #8 before?)
Harrison is #22. I think he was #21 before.
I understand Matos, he is having a down year. With McCray, there is probably a lot of excitement generating on the prospect radars but it may be too early for him to land on the Top 100. I would guess that, should he continue his hitting into next year at Eugene, his status will change. Its a little disappointing that Matos or McCray didn't make the top 100
Seems weird that Harrison would slip. Of course, I don't know how the other 21 above him (other than Luciano) have performed.Luciano has dropped to #17 overall (I think he was #8 before?)
