Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin has cranked out 10 touchdown receptions in the last four games. Whether he’ll add to that run against the Rams on Sunday will be determined, apparently, on Sunday.

In a Christmas Eve press conference, coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism about Baldwin’s ability to play with a hamstring injury, but Carroll admitted that the final decision won’t be made until it’s time to kick the ball.

“I think so,” Carroll said in response to whether Baldwin, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, is healthy. “We’ll find out, he’s going to do a little more work [Friday]. He’ll go all the way to game time, but he feels very good. But we’re still going to be slow to bring him back. So he’ll do some stuff tomorrow, and then we’ll take it all the way to game time on that.”

Carroll explained that Baldwin has “a little bit of a muscle that was bothering him, that they “don’t know if it’s a pull,” and that the team is “just giving him a break on it.”

Defenses could use a break from Baldwin and the rest of the Seattle offense, which continues an uncanny rampage with passing stats that have put the team potentially on track for a third straight Super Bowl appearance.

He had a full practice yesterday, so it seems like he'll be a go unless there's a set back.

sounds like Baldwin will play this week but mcCoy TE is done once again. The few times I've seen him play he look like a solid back-up. Just never good stay healthy.

Seahawks promote receiver Kasen Williams from practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks promoted wide receiver Kasen Williams to their active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.

With only four receivers on the active roster and Doug Baldwin questionable due to a hamstring injury, the Seahawks were in need of additional depth. Baldwin practiced on Friday and is expected to be able to play.

Williams has spent the entire season on the practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in June. He was released during final cuts after training camp and re-signed to the practice squad in September.

Williams caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in four preseason games for Seattle.

The receiving corps of the Seahawks now consists of four undrafted free agents with three of those having played their college ball at Washington (Williams, Jermaine Kearse, Kevin Smith).

To clear a roster spot, the Seahawks placed tight end Anthony McCoy on injured reserve.

McCoy appeared in just one game for Seattle after being re-signed earlier this month. McCoy suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Baltimore Ravens and was inactive last week against the Cleveland Browns.

Hopefully the Hawks can get up early and put the game out of reach so Baldwin can get some extra rest.
