"Technically" and from an assignment standpoint, Roman thought that Alex Boone had one of his best games, if not, then the best game of the season last week vs. the Rams.

Roman believes they gave Frank too many plays last week. Don't want to overload him.

Paraphrasing a little bit now: Whoever is active, HAS to be ready for everything. You can't say that just because this guy is in, we can only do this now.

Besides the depth at the position, maybe there was something the coaches didn't feel he was ready for, especially if they demand everything. Whether it be pass protection, short yardage, etc. It's not that he's terrible (like some have suggested), just not up to par on everything. Don't know this for sure, just a possibility.

How different coaches attack that broad topic is one of the most fascinating things to me in the NFL. Obviously so many other things tie into that topic, but since identifying and developing players is the most interesting part of football for me coming from a coaching background in my family, I could discuss that topic all day long.

Vernon Davis with the 8th best drop rate in the league, among TEs. Walker with the worst "drop rate" in the league. They have Walker with 24 targets, 12 receptions, and 7 drops. 19 of the 24 targets were deemed catchable.
