Flores will trade fairly. If he really wants Thuney, he'll most likely offer BB a second and a fifth. The Dolphins have 14 picks and Flores is too smart to waste them. He's got 5,18,26 in the first round 39 and 56 in the second. He got three in the fifth 153, 154, 173.

For a 27 year old All Pro who's never missed game...

Round 2, pick 24 (No. 56 overall)
Round 5, pick 27 (No. 173 overall)

The million dollar question though is will Bill fritter it away?
no, i think he wants to build a monster. go out on top. 7+ rings. he wants to prove a point, and i think he will.

You are right. First round picks are VERY valuable because of the clubs fifth year option.

if...

but again, the pats will have $100 mil+ in cap space that year too.

I think the Pats will still be a quality team, but with no Tom Brady -- I have feeling they are going to have to fight a bit more for FA's and players aren't going to be willing to take less to go there.

Im interested in seeing how they do without Brady now. Been so long since they had a different QB.

Belichick never goes after the top FAs. He doesn't believe in overspending for guys who might get paid and not play until the next contract year. Name one high profile free agent that went to the patriots' offense because Brady was there? Ochocinco? Pats traded for Moss. Traded for Gordon and AB. Brady might have been an attraction but the Patriots never signed a #1 WR or RB free agent.

Belichick signs guys that fit his check list and want to play football.

Yeah that would make sense if they love one of them...Herbert and Tua overrated imo. Love is intriguing

Yeah, Love is intriguing and Tua overrated just like Mitch was intriguing and Watson was overrated.

That is true, but NE could get away without signing a #1 WR or #RB because they had the GOAT at QB. He'd make whoever was on the team better. Will NE be able to get by without elite talent at RB and WR without an all-world QB?
And with Brady gone -- it hurts the defensive signings too. All depends on what their QB situation turns into.

I never liked Mitch but I dont really know how you can compare those two guys bc they didnt have injury problems like Tua.

I think BB definitely wants to prove he can win with out TB12. And the same goes for TB12. Both have large egos.

I think BB is smart enough to know he needs to play the long game to get into position to compete for a SB. Whereas, Brady is looking at a year or two to build on his legacy.

As a Pats fan, I'm excited to watch both teams. It's crazy to think the winning with BB / TB12 got stale, but it kinda did.

Trading Thuney is a cap thing, but I can still see it.

Plus they aren't winning 10 games this season. Time to get younger all around and IF they can get the QB of the future now... Do it. However, they have so many other needs.

What's the 2021 QB class looking like? If they don't get a QB this year

I don't pay much attention to the draft.

I wait till they start playing for real. Many look good playing with kids.

I bet the Pats do win at least 10 games this year.

I don't think this class is what we thought it could be..I mean other than Burrow coming out of nowhere. Tua injury, Herbert is not a top 20 prospect imo but will probably go top 10...Love intriguing mid to late 1st. It isn't like the Pats to take a QB in the 1st round though. I could see them getting Fromm or Eason on day 2 though.

I'm with you. I hope BB isn't moving up to get a QB from this draft class. If so he must really see something in him or he has little to no faith in Stidhman?

Don’t let that cap hit fool you. That’s the tag number. They give him a long term deal and it gets spread out

Exactly. Can't see him being traded for anything less than an early/mid 3rd. Kid has way too much upside.

Having said that BB seems to take it in the shorts quite often on some of these player deals. If BB settles for anything less he's panicked about the minimum cap he currently has IMO.
