This may require multiple answers because the Saints are in the playoffs. But, do you think Drew Brees retires at the end of this year?

I firmly believe Drew Brees returns for one final year with the Saints. He's a FA, he will sign on for a 1 year contract and here's why I think this will happen. Heading into next season, Drew Brees will be 1,495 yards away from breaking Peyton Manning's passing yards record and he will easily get that probably in the first month and a half of the season and he will have a chance to put some room in between him and Brady. Even if he wins his 2nd Super Bowl, he will still break the record next year regardless.

What are your thoughts??

Playing well enough to keep playing as far as I can see and now he has a defense and 2 stud RBs.

You'd think he'd want to smell the roses a while longer.

He also stated he wants to play into his 40's. He isn't retiring at least for another 3 years IMO unless an injury occurs
Football is his life.

Always has been.

And he has a defense and the best RB he's ever played with.

I think they'll have to drag him off the field.

He's 39 in 2 weeks time so retirement may be on his mind, still think he sticks around for another yr. though.

I don't think age is as much of a retirement factor as it used to be.

1. Players will still retire or be forced to leave if they are not good enough. That is constant, so I'm not referring to that. The number of elite QBs shouldn't rise if the definition of elite doesn't.

2. Modern approaches to physical health is not perfect, but it's better than before and while the QB has been protected in practice as long as I know, there may have been more trying practices and different rules before.

3. ACL tears, etc. is a bigger threat to QBs than hits caused by being slower due to age.

4. Age will of course, cause a drop in play quality and quantity, but teams, should be now better at adjusting - like drafting RBs like the Saints have. If a team adequately prepares those positions (and not the backup QB), QBs will stick around longer if they are good enough to choose to stay or go. The Steelers are the worst at this with Landry Jones and a beat up Big Ben.

He's still good. No reason to retire. If they win it all, that could change his mind to want to go out on top. I'd prefer it if he retired though, that would make the NFC easier.
