Honestly I met chucky a couple times in Tampa and he was great. Spent a few minutes chatting when he didn't have to (was after his coaching when he was doing his game study for TV there). So I'd like him to succeed. And I kinda like Carr and want to see him. But I really doubt Chucky will. History hasn't been nice to coaches giving it another shot where they were before.

That contract is a killer depending on how much is guaranteed (anyone know?). It's significantly backloaded - $75M in the final 5 years. Could mean they're stuck with him for a while depending on the terms. Davis isn't loaded like some of the other owners, and lacks the capital to absorb that kinda of hit - i.e. jettisoning Gruden in 5-6 years or less. It's been widely reported Davis' net worth is estimated @ $500Mil.

No, it's backloaded - probably to avoid California state taxes, Nevada is much friendlier to Millionaires. He's making closer to $5mil a year now... and if it's that backloaded, you can bet a sizable percentage of it is guaranteed (perhaps all of it).

I thought coaches contracts were guaranteed as well. You fire them they still get paid. Not a 100% sure on this, but what I believe is true.
