Lol he still played big today off the bench as he had 18 and 4. I'm waiting for Horns to tell me if this is a long term thing or a 1 game thing. Pretty interesting that they will have their 3rd and 4th best players coming off the bench

Popovich wanted to have Boris Diaw guard Carmelo.

Diaw is a bigger heavier dude.

The SPurs thought they could harass Carmelo into a shaky start with a bigger defender.

It worked well, the defensive countering held Carmelo to a bad night.

Pop might tinker with that move in the future when the Spurs play larger SF/PF types.

Unless Boris Diaw really starts tearing it up.

This will be only a game to game thing.

I think Popovich gets bored with the regular season, so this is something to tinker with during the long season.

He thinks Leonard is too skinny to consistently guard the muscular heavier SF types.

he is only 20 years old, so he will naturally fill out with more weight as he gets older.

Leonard will get starter minutes regardless....he just might not start the game when the SPurs play bigger older stronger SF/PF types.
