guy I was hitting with on Monday night was trying to get me to do this drill as we were hitting where at the end of my swing, I would release my racquet and catch it with my left hand or release my left hand on my backhand. It is supposed to help me relax my swing a little because he says I am really tight when I swing. It is really fucking hard to do.

Lots of crazy stuff like that. I used to grip the racket so tight that I would warp the handle. Old age cured it for me though, LOL.

I have not played in about a month. Will start again Sunday. Just my leagues though. No USTA for me till late May

Won my court. Fairly decent competition. A good sign. Time off helped apparently.

played my first men's doubles match of the season on Saturday morning. 9 am matches suck. My body is just not ready for that kind of thing that early. Ended up losing in 3 sets (a 10 pt Komen tie breaker instead of a third set), 4-6, 6-4, 7-10. Bummer too since we battled back from 2-7 to tie it at 7-7.

Older dude on the other team is a 100% pusher. Good at it to. Just gets the ball back and lets you make the mistakes. No pace on his shots or anything. Anyway, he came up to serve at 8-7 and killed our momentum. What a disappointment.

well I have gotten out a couple times this winter to play, but not often.

I am considering a new racquet this season...something lighter. I got in touch with Tennis Warehouse and they recommended like 7 racquets for me to look at. I will likely wait until the spring to start demoing, just in time for mixed doubles season in March.

my mixed trilevel team got rolled down in VA Beach earlier this month in our Mid Atlantic tournament and my men's team did as well.

We do not represent well outside of our state...

Ugh! Ended up having major surgery. Will be a long time before I can play tennis now. In jeopardy of missing the USTA season.

I haven’t played in ages. When I lived in TX I had a certain player circle I used to hook up with. After moving to NY everything went out the window. Now my son is growing up and I want to teach him.

Had multiple internal things removed the worst being almost 1 foot of intestines.

Wow. I didn't know people could survive if they removed that much. I guess the rest of it is "sewn" back together (by the surgeons)?

Well the the only thing they removed in its entirety was the appendix. They just took pieces of the other stuff.

ordered new strings, grips, etc for the season...

got a new pair of Babolat shoes, but I don't think they are going to work for me so they are going back.

I hate not having a decent tennis store nearby...I'd have to get up to Baltimore for that.

I have used them in the past

I ordered these through Holabird, which is just as good and just up the road in Baltimore.

but it makes it easier when you can hold a pair of shoes in your hand and know they are going to do what you need them to do. The Babolats I got aren't sturdy enough.
