that is some of the most ridiculous shit. i thought we were taught as children to wash hands before touching mouth.Bump? Any idea?
i suppose if you are a huge germaphobe you could wear a glove on your off hand.

no each player just has their own set of balls that they serve and touch.that is some of the most ridiculous shit. i thought we were taught as children to wash hands before touching mouth.

I don't think it matters all that much anyway... If the ball is covered in the virus, you are pretty much going to create a small cloud of the virus right next to you when hit it.no each player just has their own set of balls that they serve and touch.
when does the non serving player ever touch the ball in a professional match?
oh, I'm not concerned about it.I don't think it matters all that much anyway... If the ball is covered in the virus, you are pretty much going to create a small cloud of the virus right next to you when hit it.
I think the risk of transmitting between players is pretty low, but keeping your own balls is probably only slightly helping.

Doesn't hurt to be cautious.is there even a recorded case or any science that covid is spread via tennis balls?
Doesn't hurt to be cautious.
I'm not sure if there are any cases out there but there was science that the virus could survive on a surface for a given amount of time.
I played tennis with a guy the other night who used his own can of balls that no one on the court could touch. I'll tell you what, it was a challenge not to just catch it and pocket the ball. Instead you had to flip it back to him when he was serving. When not serving they'd just be along the fence.
Nothing wrong with being cautious.poor guy. the healthscam has created a country full of germaphobes.
Going back to trying to choose a racquet.a more open string pattern in the 16x19 version helps generate more spin
a lighter racquet has a bunch of obvious advantages, but if you are looking at swingweight, it rates how it feels swinging the racquet. A higher swingweight gives you more plowthrough.
here, this helps...another reason I like tennis-warehouse best.
How to Choose a Racquet
- A heavier frame = more power.
- A heavier frame = less vibration.
- A heavier frame = larger sweetspot.
- A stiffer frame = more power.
- A stiffer frame = larger sweetspot.
- A stiffer frame transmits more of the shock load to the arm than a more flexible frame.
- A stiffer frame provides a more uniform ball response across the entire string plane.
- A larger frame = more power.
- A larger frame = resistant to twisting.
- A larger frame = larger sweetspot.
- A longer frame = more velocity and therefore more power.
- A longer frame = more spin due to increased velocity.
oh they give good advice, for sure. I would recommend them.Going back to trying to choose a racquet.
Do you think the racquet specialists on Tennis Warehouse would give good advice? Or would they just try to sell me something?
I currently still have a Wilson Hammer 7.2 110". What does the number 7.2 mean? I can't find any other specs on it, like weight or swing weight.
Also I see a lot of racquets from $40 - $80 at Big 5. Would any of them be good?
honestly, I have bought racquets off eBay. Someone will buy it, realize it isn't what they want, and turn around and try to sell it. There might be a couple dings on it, but they were going to get there anyways with how I play.Thanks. Is it possible to get a good racquet between $40-$80? That's the price range I see at a local Big 5 sporting goods store (or on their website too).
Whereas on Tennis Warehouse, the cheapest racquet is $79, and those are clearance items. Most racquets are $130+.

this is what I play with
Babolat Pure Strike 98 (16 x 19) Project One7 Tennis Racquets 4 3/8 Grip | eBay
<p>Babolat Pure Strike 98 (16 x 19) Project One7 Tennis Racquets 4 3/8 Grip. </p><br /><p>Good condition with some minor dings</p><br /><p>Currently strung with Babolat RPM blast at 56 lbs</p><br />www.ebay.com
but yes, you can get an ok racquet off a site like Tennis Warehouse for that much too
I like a more open string pattern as it helps to generate spin, so I guess it would work well with slices as much as it works with topspin. Is that racquet better for players who do a lot of slices? If so, how does it feel when not doing slices?
You likely won't know until you hit with both of them. I demoed 4 racquets and they were all similar but felt different. One was too stiff and I put it down almost immediately. After a 15 minute hold, I finally got a representative.
Placed an order for the following demos:
1) Babolat Pure Drive 107
Head Size: 107 in
Length: 27.2in
Strung Weight:10.6oz
Swingweight: 309
Stiffness: 69
2) Wilson Blade 104
Head Size: 104 in
Length: 27.5in
Strung Weight:10.8oz
Swingweight: 317
Stiffness: 60
Do you think they're different enough from my Wilson Hammer 7.2 110" racquet, where I could determine what I have a preference for?
And do you think the two demos are also different enough from each other too?
