“The first thought that came into my head is knowing Roman and knowing what he’s like,” Alzner says of his Caps teammate. “I just had to laugh. Roman’s the kind of guy that just takes it as it comes. He says what’s on his mind. Whether he thinks it through all the time is another story. He just says it. If he doesn’t like practice, he lets you know. If he doesn’t like what you did in the game, he lets you know. I think it’s just frustration setting in.”

A frustrated fan makes a tough decision and says so long to the Canucks

glad to see some of these stories make their way to the media.
It won't matter as much in Vancouver, as it will just mean the wait for season tickets drops from 3 years to 1 year maybe.
But for 20+ teams, a lost ticket will not be replaced right away, so that's measurable lost revenue.

Daly on decertification:

Andy Strickland ‏@andystrickland

Bill Daly on concern of NHLPA decertifying " Only to the extent that I think it would likely mean were not playing hockey this season"

Bill Daly went on to tell me "The law is not in their favor" #NHL #NHLPA

I get the sense that even in vancouver, the individual will be re-evaluating their consumer spending with regards to seasons tickets, single games

the corporations will still buy the tickets though ... they wont go away

people are taking their entertainment dollars elsewhere ... and enjoying it

This kills me... just do your job. How about that.

I don't trust some of the people I've worked with... hasn't stopped me from doing my job.

Seriously, totally agree with you mooger. Give me a break Brouwer, they're not going to be taking the 'lookout shift' while you're asleep.

Just say you're disappointed in their comments and call it a night.

It's easy for me not to go to the games now as I'm a 2.5 hour drive away from San Jose (and would have to leave early from work just to get there on time). When I used to live in the Bay Area, I usually bought 10 game packs or whatever was the best deal.....now, not so much. That said, assuming the lockout ends relatively soon and hockey is being played, is it also bad to watch on tv? I miss hockey to death, but I do want to make both owners and players know that "us" fans are pissed. Should I not watch on TV either? Just look at the boxscores? I'm definitely not buying myself or any family members any Sharks gear anytime soon. I'll also tell my family that if they buy me anything Sharks related I'll burn it, lol.

Fuck these greedy fucks (both sides). I'm pissed at the owners for trying to go back on their agreement and I'm pissed at the players for hiring Fehr. Obviously the players never had the goal of coming to a reasonable compromise when you hire that fucktard.

I don't know why some of the hawks on the players side decided to get rid of Paul Kelly, but if Kelly was still director of the NHLPA, methinks we would be watching NHL hockey today.

/Canucks - Habs would have been on HNIC tomorrow night

I truly love hockey... But this is truly putting a permanent sting in my NHL future fandom. I am starting to follow soccer more. If this doesn't get resolved and goes into what would be next season, I think I am done with the NHL for good.

One thing I truly hope not to see (but I know it has a 0% chance of happening) if/when hockey resumes: "Thank you to the best Fans" or any other iteration of that. I always hated that.....always seemed like salt in the wound. However, I would be ok with any of these lines.....I appreciate honesty:

  • "Thank you for still spending money on our sport, our families can now be fed - Sincerely The Owners and the Players"

  • "Thank you to the best sheep.....er.....fans in the world!!!"

  • "LOL at all of you back in the seats. It means the lockout was justified!"

Feel free to add as you see fit (or don't add as you see fit).

Cancellation of games through December 14 expected within the hour . NHL will also cancel the 2013 NHL All-Star Weekend.

Daly says nothing to Fehr

Daly said he was not scared of the possibility, adding decertification would be a "time-consuming process" that would "likely lead to the end of the season."
