absolutely incredible. so now it's about making sure Fehr doesn't win. it has nothing to do with the owners winning, just as long as Fehr loses.
what a bloody joke.
ive been saying all along this is about ego and winning not negotiating. this has moved away from the game and the actual business. did Jacobs ever own a MLB team?
oh i agreed w/ you its all about ego.. but it's at least a little understanding if you're fighting to win for yourself.. if you're fighting so that 'he' doesn't win.. that's just ridiculous.. at this point i honestly think the owners would ratify the exact same CBA as last time, but with a 5 year contract limit.. as long as fehr wasn't involved.. they no longer care about winning.. as long as fehr loses they'll be happy
Owners keep acting like petulant child. "That's the hill we die on" ?? Give me a break.
Jeremy Jacobs (one of the most hawkish owners) approves of his GM signing Seguin to a 6 year, 34.5 million dollar contract a mere three days before the lockout. Why a six year deal? Why not a five year deal to fall in line with the "hill will we die on" mantra?
Is it any surprise non-NHL fans point at the NHL and laugh?
Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull
“@JoshYohe_Trib: Crosby likely won't go back to NYC for more negotiations. Said trust is essentially gone.”
didnt think much was there. or is he talking about Fehr
these are the things that just drive me crazy. the NHL could come out and say. look we gave our GMs full autonomy they did it not us we cant hold them back for things we trust them but now we dont like that so we still want them to do what is right in the CBA but we want to limit that.
that is the only defense I can think of for that
I think Fehr has some damage control work to do with the players - Just a hunch, but I think he's told the players that they can still get a better deal from the league. Maybe he's right, but with the sides as reportedly close as they are, that's a big gamble.
Meh, Fehr is a part of the problem. Not single handed.
