Can confirm that NHLPA has indeed requested the return of Federal Mediators to the process. Needless to say,NHL has yet to agree.


so i guess they are indeed closer than a week ago

That or things have turned sour and they are giving it one final go before blowing it up.

so rumour is that late last night the NHLPA members threatened that if they didnt make concessions back and get this rolling the NHLPA would decertify and they also promised that not one player would play for their respective teams as the CBA deals of the past would be nullified and all players go into a melting pot and to the best deal the player would go.

could you imagine

all those 1st round picks for the oilers and justin shultz fuck off lol they all end up on some team across the country hahaha. if Im the canucks I sign all those young studs to mass deals and build a dynasty for 5 years fuck that would be fun to watch even if we lost 2 seasons

I think at this point they have already done a lot of damage. With all of the good things that have happened the last couple of years they won over some marginal fans with things like the Winter Classic a good TV contract that made the league more relevant. The ratings were doing fine a large market team won the Cup and they shoot themselves in the fucking foot.

Makes no sense to me but it does tell us what they think about the fans....you know the people that are the REAL bosses and the ones that pay the bills. What a bunch of jerks and if they put "Thank You Fans" on the ice like last time we should all piss on it.

That said, there's no denying the fact that Fehr and Bettman can't seem to get much done when they're in the same room. Fehr doesn't ever seem to get rattled (great poker face).

That's something that Kelly Hrudey said on NHL radio months ago. He said it felt to him like Fehr wanted to the players hall of fame on one negotiation.

Its not hard to call a bluff when you have no real concern or not if the other is bluffing. He had stoppages and cancellations in 'his' sport, do you really think he cares about this league/sport after being brought on just a couple years ago?
