The Tigers have acquired INF's Dawel Lugo, Sergio Alcantara & Jose King from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for OF J.D. Martinez.

Not overly happy with the trade ... no top 100 prospects

Makes me think they might be moving Iglesias and/or Kinsler -- either now or this offseason.

Agreed. On one hand, you can say "at least we get SOMETHING" because JD would be gone this offseason anyway. On the other hand, it seems Avila could have shown more patience and held out for better. Why make a July 18 deal that doesn't beef up the worst part of the farm system (pitching)?

He deserves to be the centerpiece of a lineup. He's worked hard and earned it.

I've been stuck in Columbus the past few weeks. Seems they're all convinced here that Iggy is the best SS on the market and as good as gone.

Which is fine by me.

Lugo and Alcantara could be starting in Tiger infield in 2019. Repeat - COULD BE. Lugo might even be Casty's replacement at 3b sometime next year.

Remember...the value of rental players has gone down with new FA rules.

Yeah, just heard Lugo is a 3B currently in AA. Much better defensively than Castellanos (which is not hard to be). Could see him in 2019, with Casty moving to 1B and Cabrera the DH. (V-mart will be gone.)

Kinsler will be tough to move (maybe this winter?), so trading Iglesias is a good idea. He'll be looking for $6-7mil in arbitration. Let Machado and Romine finish the season at SS.

Lugo should move through AAA quickly next year....he played a little at AA last year and all this year. I wonder if Detroit moves him to Toledo before the end of the season
