The Orioles and Blue Jays would be the AL's wild card teams if the season ended today. Detroit is three games behind them, tied with Houston and Seattle in an increasingly crowded race. The Tigers have 14 games remaining in the regular season.


--Daniel Norris is coming off perhaps his best start of the season. He allowed two runs and struck out 11 in 6.1 innings in a win over the Twins.

--Trevor Bauer has a 2-0 record with a 5.00 ERA against the Tigers so far this season.

Verlander was the only guy that showed up. The other Tigers are a disgrace.

The tigers are three games out of a playoff spot. I don't think the tigers are a disgrace I think some of their fans are.

Certainly terms like garbage and trash and a disgraceful are really well thought-out insights into the Tigers. Sure there are issues with this team as there are with any team. Of course they're not perfect. But terms like trash garbage disgraceful and fire the Manager are really well thought out and intelligent comments and criticism.

Tigers are not a disgrace, just a vastly overpaid collection of players who just don't seem to fit together. I think it has been proven, in and out of baseball, that throwing more and more money at a problem(s) usually does not solve anything.
I have always disagreed with how Illitch/Dombrowski/Avila/etc have developed the Tiger organization...even though they have had some success. Like a lot of fans, I fear the inevitable collapse caused by the collection of long term mega-deals and destruction of a minor league feeder system. Hopefully they can avoid being the Phillies 2.0

When a player questions the fans and does nothing but makes outs, it makes me think he has given up. Again why is V-Mart in the 4 spot? Another GIDP disaster. Maybe disgrace is a strong term, but that's what the offense was against a taxed bullpen whom lost their starter two pitches in. There is NO excuse for not manufacturing any runs in that situation, none.

I don't think Ausmus will be back if they don't make the playoffs and you have to (or should) let the new manager pick his coaches. Either way I see bright thing for the Tigers in 2017.

Maybe.

I didn't see this as a playoff team coming into the season necissarily. So I neverthought of making the playoffs as make or break for Brad or Big Al.

But I agree that if there is a change at skipper, he should be able to create his own staff.

Id hate to see Rich Dubee leave the organization. He's done wonders with Fulmer and Boyd. And is clearly helping JV transition to his new phase. I have tons of faith that he'll do real well with Norris, given time. (I think Norris has the most to work with out of the three rookies.)

????I don't care who bats 4th or 5th. The dysfunctional nature of this team transcends the batting order. (As they said today, 14th in league in getting runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs)

Fire Ausmus....fine with me. I'd prefer Avila getting the ax, then the new guy would can Ausmus anyhow. My wish is that the Illitch family send Papa to a "home" in Florida, tell him that they sold the team to a Japanese Pizza Company and that Tom Selleck is now the GM and Steve Yzerman is the manager. He won't catch on and he will be happy and content. (Show him re-runs of the 2006 and 2012 teams and tell him they are the current team)

THEN have the family turn the team over to some young computer savvy guys who will be running the entirety of MLB in a few years anyhow.
