I may have went with a bit of hyperbole there.

I'm no fan of Iggy. And no fan of defensive stats either. For what it's worth.

He's supposed to play part time with Aybar, supposedly. And I won't bitch one way or the other down the stretch if that happens. Just really don't value him much, big scheme.

He has great hands, in the field and at the plate. I just don't view that asset as much of a difference maker really. Even though I appreciate his ability to make contact.

If I was the GM of the Tigers AND I had a functioning and decently stocked minor league system....Iglesias seems like a good piece of the puzzle, considering he partly compensates for a weak-fielding 3B. I'd use some prospects, in trade, to get a couple of good relief pitchers and find some bench strength via free agency. But the Tiger GM does not have the prospects to trade...so, come on Iglesias, get that average up there and make yourself a valuable trade chip. Second year arbitration eligible will probably get him into the $4-5mil range. Teams don't give much back for a slick fielding .230 hitting SS.

Truly disappointing offensive series against a lousy pitching staff. Gotta have better ABs against Chicago.

That was a terrible series. Have to blame the offense more than anyone. The big bats choked in the last two games.

This AL Central "race", is a race of turtles. Since the All Star break, Cleveland has played exactly .500 baseball. Detroit is something like 3 over .500 and KC 4 over. Parity.

Maybin hurt - AGAIN! Thumb - AGAIN! Tigers really have to think about that option.

Kinsler is batting .202 in August. Batting .230 since the All Star Game. A lot of his numbers are being propped up by the terrific April, May and part of June he had. Can they squeeze one more "good" year out of him?

Ugh. My kingdom for some clutch hits. Another 5-plus ERA pitcher we can't score on.

Tigers facing James Shields. A pitcher who started the game with an ERA of 5.99. Through 5 innings...Tigers have ONE run.
