LOL. White Sox go down to defeat via the hands of that All-Star combination of Jones, Saltalamacchia, and Collins!

Hopefully the Tribe will go on a losing streak this month. Oct 1st Tigers 1st place sounds good to me :D
I am with you there Bud..... the Tigers have seven games left with the Indians and I got tickets for the last two in Detroit. I am counting on those games being big.....

Toledo Mud Hens 4, Indianapolis Indians 2 (box)

Even though the Tigers can’t beat the Indians, their Triple-A affiliate got the job done on Wednesday. Jordan Zimmermann threw four innings in his rehab start, allowing just one hit and an unearned run. Perhaps most encouraging of all was the fact that he struck out four Indianapolis batters against just one walk. Toledo’s offense was paced by back-to-back homers from Steven Moya and Casey McGehee in the first, as well as Dean Green’s three-hit day. Cesar Ramos pitched 3 2⁄3 innings for the win while Joe Jimenez had a clean ninth for his eighth save as a Mud Hen.

Green: 3-4, 2B
Moya: 1-5, HR
McGehee: 1-4, HR, BB
Zimmermann: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 4 K, 1 BB
Ramos (W, 2-3): 3.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 K, 3 BB
Jimenez (SV, 8): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R

Looking at the numbers down the stretch, if Cleveland has a .500 finish (15-15), they'll have 91 wins. The Tigers would need to go 20-9 to win the Central by a game. Almost gotta hope Cleveland is sub-.500 the rest of the way, or the Wild Card is the only way in for Detroit.

They're only 2 over .500 since the break.

Tigs would need to dominate in the head to head series for sure though.

They have to play better against Cleveland and KC than they have so far. With the Tigers schedule, I think 17-18 wins in the last 29 games is very do-able. That would get them to 89-90 wins, and hopefully that's enough for at least a WC berth. If Cleveland stumbles and/or if the Tigers can win 5 or 6 of the remaining 7 against them, all bets are off.

Good point. He's already allowed 25 HR, one more than his previous career high. If he's allowing HR closer to his career average (0.8/9), he's probably at a 3.00 ERA or slightly lower and a front-runner for Cy Young. All his other key numbers rank among the 2nd or 3rd best seasons of his career:

0.995 WHIP (2nd best)
9.5 K/9 (2nd best)
2.2 BB/9 (2nd best)
3.30 ERA (3rd best)

Was wondering how long it would be before Iggy and Aybar starting playing some third.

Thoughtvit would be the other way around though.
