Didn't realize this.. but the Tigers TV contract is up in 2017... so Ilitch has a big reason to make a push to contend and keep ratings high... If recent deals with the Padres, Phillies, or Diamondbacks show anything.. the Tigers could be in line to get a 3-4 billion dollar 25 year deal... They are a top ten market that only 2 years ago led the entire league in TV ratings...

Read today about managerial candidates for the Tigers. The names that were mentioned were Dave Martinez, Ron Gardenhire and Tory Lavullo.

Those managerial candidates are nothing more than speculation by the writer. He could have just as easily penned your name in there. Until the season is done and the clown is fired... you can take any mention of candidates with a grain of salt. Do you think Avila is actually discussing who he might replace him with right now? I doubt it.

I have never hated a manager as much as I hate Ausmus.

You have to remember that there are about 5 other manager positions that are going to be open. Tigers will probably be one of the most desired.. but they are going to have competition for all of these guys.

I don't know how I feel about Pudge as a manager... Bud Black is interesting... Gardenhire is a name thrown out there a lot but to be honest... I don't think he would be a good fit at all.

I wouldn't put Trammell in that position... then people would expect him to be a canidate to take over... I don't want Trammell back... sorry. Fire Ausmus... Let Lamont take over... Lamont is about to retire anyways... so he isn't going to expect to be a candidate.

I would rather see Vizquel take over than Trammell... at least he is a viable candidate to be hired.

I am expecting to see them hire someone that leans more toward the use of analytics than old school. Its funny.. yesterday during the game... Rod pointed out how Francona has notes on every situation and player... where as Brad has nothing he goes off of... he made Ausmus look like a complete idiot... They panned to a shot of Brad sitting there eating sunflower seeds and looking like a moron... it was pretty funny.
