Gotta love those fans with those glasses that somehow block out the future. I guess it is the positive attitude that I lost years ago. I am trying real hard to work up excitement for the Tigers to end up with a final W/L record of 84/78 and sneak past the Twins and the other mediocre AL teams and grab that last wild card spot. THEN...as they say....anything could happen. Greene could pitch past the third, Verlander rediscovers youth. a hypnotist convinces Simon it is April, not October. DD signs, Coke, Valverde, Joba, and Willie Hernandez to restructure the pen............

I just don't get why anyone is holding out hope to just make the playoffs this year. One last hurahh ! We've had teams that were much better than this current one. One failed to win the WS in their lone attempt this decade. Do you want me to mention the failure to get by Boston or Texas for a chance at the WS ?

This pitching staff, outside of Price (he won't be here next year), needs a total retool for next year and beyond. The one chance to attempt to improve that is with the trade pieces that are at their peak value.

It makes absolutely no sense not to trade any player that can get you good to great value, imo.

Is there a trophy or banner coming for simply being a participant ?

Iffy what would DickMC do?

Dick is sure the Tigers will make the playoffs this season (he has adjusted slightly to accepting a wild card spot). When I asked him today how he anticipated that the Tigers would accomplish this...he did not answer. (S.O.P.). I asked him what trades they should make - No answer!. Asked him why the Tigers did not grab Kazmir to replace Greene. No answer! Asked him what would happen - in 2016 - if they stuck with the guys they had now. No answer! Eventually he ran away. I am pretty sure Dick has the IQ of a bag of pork rinds.
