Hope Moya is the next coming. ...
Its not about being the "next coming"... its about producing an outfielder that can be average to above... at the cost of 500k... So that the Tigers can put money where it needs to go... the rotation.

Listened to a lot of it on the way home yesterday.

Nice that some young guys with potential came thru in a playoff series.
Tigers lower minors are actually not that bad... the problem is the upper minors.. that is where the trades have hurt them.

The White Caps got REALLY good after the draft this year... half the team's lineup is from this years draft.. Simcox and Stewart look like legit prospects... A good few of the pitching came from this years draft too.

Just an FYI about Moya... His K rate is right around 30%... Joey Gallo has a k rate of 40% in AAA this year for the rangers... and he is considered the 6th best prospect in all of the mlb... with an awesome .195 BA in AAA this year.

Moya may never be an all star.. but he is an above average outfielder defensively (which Gallo is not) and he can hit HR... Moya signed for $220,000... Gallo signed for $2.2 mil... if all Moya ends up being is a 4th outfielder... its still a huge bargain.. and allows them to spend money in other places.... not every prospect has to end up a future HOFer to be considered a success for the organisation.

Lakeland and Erie should be pretty solid next year. Toledo is still going to suck.. but in another year or two... the gap from the guys they traded away and the ones they drafted and signed should start to fill... Pitching wise the Mudhens should have a few guys to watch.. but I don't see much going on down there for position player depth unless machado and marte are down there to start the year.

I'm in your corner with Krol.

He LOOKS good, but hasn't been, yet.

He makes me think "left-handed Ryan Perry." Million-dollar stuff, ten-cent location.

Agreed. The Tigers made the playoffs a couple straight seasons with a combination of Ryan Raburn and Delmon Young in LF, but the rotation was very good. The importance of top-tier corner outfielders is overrated and not worth the expense if it costs us pitching.

Castellanos replaced by Marte... groin strain... must have pulled it after he got done letting Brad suck him off for giving him a stamp of approval.

I don't think Krol is nearly as stupid though.

Hope not. If he is, best to move on now.
the good news is the tigers are loaded with lefty pitchers that could be put into the pen... Boyd, Ryan, Lobstein... All could do the job there.

Why does Brad Ausmus keep running young relievers out for a second inning when they have 12 relievers in the bullpen???? Its so pointless... He has done this at least 5 times since rosters expanded.... He cost the game again tonight.... No reason Verhagen came out a second inning.. NONE.

Verhagen threw 31 pitches... but he only has Wilson throw 9? I just don't get the rational of having a guy go multiple innings when its not needed... Can anyone here give me any remote reason why Verhagen would be throwing 31 pitches.. but wilson only 9... and there are a total of 12 relievers to use? I just don't get why he keeps doing this... Its like he keeps guys in until they get hit... instead of letting them go a clean inning and moving on... what kind of manager does this? He isn't managing the pitching.. they are managing themselves... Verhagen never should have been out there a second inning.

Not cool with Collins going to second after the throw went to third. He should have been out.

And now they're going to challenge it...

I have no idea why Ausmus does what he does with the pen.

I don't think he does either.

Drove me nuts last year when he left JV in an inning too long every game.

But hey, Ausmus actually didn't cost The team the game tonight. and Collins only scored because he gambled on taking second.

I'm hoping Rajai goes to center next inning. Collins in center could be interesting.

Definitely going to be interesting with Bruce on the hill in the ninth.
