Hernan Perez VS Andrew Romine

Hernan Perez line with the Brewers in 69 games -

BA - .287
OBP - .297
Doubles - 14
Triples - 2
Hr - 1
RBI -15

Romine in 91 games with the Tigers

BA - .240
OBP -.290
Doubles - 4
Triples - 0
Hr - 2
RBI -11

Yeah... Tigers probably regret not DFA'ing Romine.

Simon is probably going to end up signing with the Royals in the offseason for peanuts and end up looking like an ace... or go in their bullpen and be lock down...

I actually believe that a little of Simon's struggles were related to the death of his father... he was pitching like a top of the order starter before that happened... the starts where he completely imploded were right after. He has been better lately.. and I could see how that could have affected him.

That's gotta mess with someone's work performance, no matter what they do.

Source: Detroit Tigers to fire manager Brad Ausmus at season's end

The way the Tigers are handling this is a joke.. Just fucking fire the guy already to save face since someone already leaked it..

The picture painting of Ilitch wanting to win a WS is nice.. but the truth of the matter is he is chasing a huge TV contract payday. I doubt Ilitch is going to let Ausmus cost his team billions due to low ratings. Don't be surprised to see some crazy shit happen this offseason like dropping major coin on starting pitching AND on Cespedes... the more I look at it... the more it makes sense. They have to keep the ratings and attendance up for next year at all costs. Not saying they are going to get a Dodgers like contract... but one like the 5 billion dollar deal the Phillies got isn't out of the question if the Tigers were to bounce back strong next year with big attendance and ratings numbers. That would increase TV revenues by 4x and add 150 mil a year to the coffers.

I know Iffy likes to trumpet the whole "the manager doesn't lose games, the players do" act... but last night is another prime example of bad managing. How many times are we going to see weird plays where the Tigers are out at the plate. I don't remember this many idiotic blunders with Leyland.. and maybe I am way off.. but base running has been horrible this year. Its almost as if the players are doing what ever they want. There just isn't much anyone can argue the Tigers do well under Ausmus.. and if you can't blame the manager for that... I don't know what you can blame them for. The level of execution of baseball plays has dropped so much in the last year its not even funny.

Nobody can tell me this team would not have won more with Leyland managing this year. Its getting to the point that its a joke every game this clown manages. Even the pitching woes can be blamed on him. KC had a rotation that was just as shitty as the Tigers... but they didn't try to get 7 innings out of them every game... they yanked them in the 4th, 5th, or 6th. I get it they had a better bullpen.. but even the bullpen's numbers are worse than they should be due to the same thing... Ausmus leaves pitchers in to long and it bites him.... and makes the pitching look worse than it is.

Also another note... The Tigers West Michigan White Caps A team won its opening playoff series and moves on to the second round... At least someone is playing playoff games in the Tigers organization this year.

I had written a while ago that I think Simon would be more useful as a one-inning guy. He's getting killed 2nd/3rd time through the order this year.

With Ausmus going, will Dave Clark get a chance? I like this guy and that's that.

Are you serious? Dave Clark is possibly the worst 3rd base coach I have ever seen!

One thing is certain.. during the years of Dombrowski... a slip like this would never have made it to the media... he was very tight lipped and nobody... including those working with him knew of his plans until they were executed.

ian kinsler on Brad Ausmus - When a move’s made, whether he stays as manager or we find a new manager, then I think it will be significant. … But right now it’s really nothing.

Sounds like the players can't wait for him to be gone.

No it doesn't ... It's kinda really nothing. If you are so smart, why do you have $115 dollars left in your Bookie account?
