Or be aggressive in signing Scherzer. Another good year, and Rick stood to get a contract around $15-$16 mill a season next year. That offsets some of what we'd have to pay Max.

If they sign max will they be able to extend price? Price is a legit number one. If they can only snag one, it needs to be price. I would love to see them resign both. They would again have one of the best rotations in baseball.

Tigers should see cespedes numbers improve hitting before vmart and miggy. Hes a legit five tool player, not shabby at all.

Had very rick like numbers last season. Should do fine as a fourth starter. Has had good numbers the past three years now.

Well i guess ricky is going somewhere. I dont get why people are so down on cespedes. So he struggled in boston. Hopefully a fresh start helps him out. Nice to have his arm too. As for simon, i have no problem with him. He is getting old 33. He was an AS last yr i believe. Wouldve loved shields. Latos wouldve been good. But simon will do.

Mad dog is talking bout ricky. He said ricky never had more innings than hits given up. He thinks ricky is no better than a 3 or 4. Chris russo is my fav baseball guy too. Hes ripping ricky lol.

Yeah, I thought it might be smokescreen when DD said the Tigers were "not looking seriously" at re-signing Max, but after the Alfredo Simon trade, I guess Max is good as gone. Break the bank and extend Price.

I'm ok with Cespedes for Ricky....I hear a lot of talk going on about how he will be better protected in Detroit.....I don't think that will be the case....I think he will add protection for Vmart and Miggy ....

I'm excited to see Iggy and Kinsler inside for defense........Do we have the Pieces in the BP with guys like Soria, Rondon, Krol? Can we land a legit Closer because Nathan looked like Shit last year.

DD is still giving us a chance so that will put butts in seats for another year.

Porcello would have been a 6 years 85-95 million dollar guy and that just wasn't going to happen next year. He is good but IMO his ceiling is as a #3 guy.

I do think this also allows the Tigers the cash to offer Price. Max has priced himself outside of Detroit's budget.

My biggest concern is health of the top 3 in the rotation. Simone and Greene having to be anything but .500 innings eaters could be a problem.

The LF upgrade is decent and all but that .260 avg has to be a concern. If Cespedes can hit closer to .280 while knocking out 20-25 HRs, and this bush league pitcher to be named develops, then it was worth it. Porcello's best days are still ahead of him...

Nightmare Should be no concerns over that .260 avg we just replaced a aging Hunter with him.
