The Tigers have acquired David Price from the Rays in a three-team trade with the Mariners, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com has confirmed.[ame="[MEDIA=twitter]494932499542585344[/MEDIA]"]Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports[/ame] first reported the deal.
Austin Jackson is going to the Mariners and both Drew Smyly and Nick Franklin are going to the Rays, it appears.

Not sure I am liking it yet?? Was hoping Smyly to pen. Ajax has been a machine in the leadoff spot as of late.

I heard The Mariners basically traded Walker for Ajax and he was sent to the Rays with Franklin from their end.

No doubt Voltaire. Really was fun seeing the defense of Granderson and then AJax out there. Still miss Curtis and will surely miss Ajax running shit down.

actually since the M's are not sending Walker, their top prospect to the Ray's. So they get jackson only. Rays will get Smyly and Franklin. Not sure how many more prospects they will get.

Just in. As I suspected. Tigers are also sending hot shot SS single A prospect Willy Adames one of their top 10 prospects in the deal. However with iggy and Suarez, SS is a positionj of strength. In addition ezekiel Carrera speedy CF in Toledo (lefty) will be called up and platoon with davis in CF.

Wow how can u people not like this? Proce is a stud. How many times has ajax hit a hot streak only to go back to austin jacKKKKKson? Price is a HUGE upgrade over smyly. Plus hes under control until 2015. Im not a huge rajai fan but he can do what ajax does usually. What a wicked rotation. Imagine if JV regained his form.

Rays got screwed i think. Red sox got cespedes. Rays got smyly and franklin.

Sounds good to me. You know how i feel about prospects. Only good for trades in my eyes. Im excited to see price. We got a tough lefty who can go deep in the game. If ajax hasnt figured it out by now, he never will

As I stated before the job David Chad has done to really beef up the system and allow DD to make trades has been terrific. Lots of people speculating that david Price not being represented by Boras takes the $$ that was offered to max. Tigers will offer max the qualifying and take a first round pick. Tigers may end up with JV, Price,Sanchez and Rickey going forward.

Davis sucks in OF and throws like a girl......Cleaves u will be the first to complain. ....hurts D big time.....I get the upside to Price but Smyly was BP guy come late September and playoffs. ...does this make Tigers better now....built for this season. ...less D....AJs hitting and no fix in the BP....

I said I need to see errthing first before I judge. Ajax has been hot. Wanted Smyly in pen. price is upgrade over Smyly. Bullpen still sucks and Raj is not Ajax in CF.

defense gets hurt in huge spot and as of now the hot streak Ajax is riding is helping to win central.

I see it as a HUGE upgrade in rotation and downgrade in field and lineup.

the minute I see the OF of JD/Raj/Hunter every game it will me for sure. Would love to eat crow here, just don't see it.
