If JD stays hot and dirks comes back....then what? I think hunter when healthy should sit more if JD stays hot.

I can not argue that. JD's defense or Torii's...got a coin. His decline has been so rapid. Some guys you see playing bad D or a hitting slump and think he will come around. Truly don't see it with Torii.

Well, this is interesting ... I was fully prepared to make a case for JD to be the platoon guy in LF against LHPs, with Dirks against RHPs. Strangely, JD is hitting RHPs WAY better than LHPs so far this season. 27-73 (.397) with 4 HR against righties, 3-35 (.094) with 2 HR against lefties. Small sample I know, but in his career, he's hit .260 off RHPs and .246 off LHPs. Should be some interesting decisions for Ausmus if Torii does not get DL'd.

Yeah, the only thing Kelly has to cling to is being able to spell Castellanos at 3B. But Romine has played 3B in the majors, and he's also our only backup to a rookie SS. I think DK has used up the last of his nine lives.

DK's out of options. A nice article on mlive about how bad our 6th spot in the lineup is doing this year....since JD got hot, our number 5 hole is actually putting up good numbers....our 6th hitter is worst in avg OPS, and OBP on the team.....

Were on a pace to score 75 less runs and 6 less wins from last year.

Also anyone seen the article about avila tipping pitches? Something about he hits his glove differently for certain pitches?

Didn't see the article, but heard something on the radio and there may be something to it. It's crazy how 3 or 4 GOOD starters all go bad at the same time.
