Miggy doesnt get credit for his runs because hes a power hitter and power hitters hit HR's which cause them to usually have high RS.....So they hold that against miggy....true shit.....trust me, they have an excuse for everything.....plus they pick n choose what stats to use to fit their argument.....example....even tho mccutchens defensive numbers are better than trouts this year...they wont give him credit, because its only this year he had a strong arm.....but yet the argument was about THIS year if trout would of won the NL MVP.

No cleaves....the argument is Saberstats vs eyeballing. Trout and Miggy are just names over a collection of numbers. (which isn't altogether wrong)

Yup i posted them....but what about the other 30 posts i had inbetween? I just kept stating a fact when someone called me dumb or stupid or stick to college sports.....if you dont agree with the nerd herd they gang up on ya.....then call u a troll......but how is stating a fact trolling? Miggy is the MVP......funny the guy who made the thread said i wasnt trolling.

So whatever the guy who made the thread says goes? Have you seen some of the things MikeSpiller says?

So if a Red Sox fan came into a thread and just started saying "Just checking in to see if Boston's still the champs,' and 'Red Sox are the WS winners,' you don't consider that trolling? Really now, cleaves?

It's not Cleaves trolling that is the issue. The issue is that he/she lacks the ability to comprehend that an opinion other than his might be valid. This causes him/her to form his opinion before responding to someone and not read entire posts that he/she is responding to. The Cleaves gets frustrated and feels that people are "ganging up" when others are just pointing out the lack of clarity in his/her posts. I actually find his blind faith to Detroit area teams endearing. That kind of blind loyalty is not without benefits.

Was the title whos the ws champs the red sox or cards?

The title was about miggy and trout for mvp and thise who didnt think miggy deserved it.....

Of course it would be trolling....it had nuthin to do with the red sox..

Is that so hard to understand?

Really? I had my opinion about the whole argument and since i didnt agree with the revenge of the nerds bunch i was teamed up on.....so yup i WAS teamed up on. But i could care less....its the internet.

I just find it hard you as a tiger fan said miggy was THE WORST 3B IN BASEBALL.....but you admitted you only watched him play 27 out of 173 games...

My blind faith? Why dont you go check about me on the lions boards......im arguing with the rah rah lions crowd constantly......the pistons suck.....the wings are ok....how can i get on the tigers? Theyve won 3 straight division titles.....have 2 AL pennants in 7 yrs.....they arent sorry....

Just ask someone like muzz or gvsu the arguments ive had on the lions board.....once again you know nothing youre talking about

yys say it is so!!
Joe Nathan said today..He would LOVE to be with the Tigers!!!
sign him up!!! it would be one more piece of the puzzle we need!

speaking of signing..did you catch what cano wants??? 300Million over 10 years. Yankees told his agent ( jazzy j or what ever that sampling fools name is) not even interested in talking till he gets of that dream cloud.

don't think you will see teams signing players to 10 year contract any more. Tigers will regret that contract to Fielder soon. Just to many years on it.
Dodgers said Not interest in Cano.Mets talked to him but let every one know NO THANKS

Yes it wasnt close at all but somehow apparently tigers fans are getting "owned". Some people are more delusional than others clearly. Maybe we should start talking about how chris davis was more of an mvp than trout this year, that conversation would make more sense.

good post GV. I was surprised that Davis didn't finish 2nd. I though he had a shot of getting a lot of 1st place votes. davis had a great year.
Of course this was the BBWA votes I was thinking of. I knew in the mind of the so called saber boys that trout would be there choice.

1 point people always forget to mention..is Miggy was hurt the last month or so in the season. he played on. His nymbers took a hit. The Tigers needed him even if he was hurt. his so called replacement still wouldn't have been as good as a hurt Miggy. How can this not be considered into the mix?

If the Yankees think you are over-priced, then I'd say you really ARE over-priced.

Yep. He was hitting .360 at the end of August, and was on pace for 50 HR.

I been saying it all along...inflation.......once a player cracks that 300 million.....more will follow....in 5 yrs prince contract might look normal compared to what others are getting. David murphy just got 6 million a year. He hit 220.

Miggy tells ESPN deportes he wants to finish career in the city of detroit....

"The money is less important in this case," Cabrera told ESPNdeportes.com. "What we want is to win a championship in Detroit. Hopefully David Dombrowski, the new manager and all of us work to win the championship we so desire."

Sounds good....wish detroit couldve signed javier lopez.....him and nathan wouldve been nice additions.......need some LH BP help.

interesting move from DD today. Replaced all the open positions (except one) left from the FA by placing the following minor league players on the 40 man. left-hander Kyle Lobstein, right-handers Justin Miller and Jose Valdez, first baseman Jordan Lennerton, shortstop Eugenio Suarez, center fielder Daniel Fields and right fielder Steven Moya .
That means there is room for one signee on the 40 man. probably a closer. Of course they still have 2 spots (kelly and Coke) that they could non tender. Doesn't sound like the team is looking to sign much this off season.

This last point is a good point but I'm not sure it is totally accurate. I believe that Miggy's poor finish was largely overlooked because of his much publicized health issues. He was adequate with the bat in his hand but his injury further hindered him on the basepath and in the field. I believe that Davis' relative poor finish was punished by the writers. Trout's consistency was not rewarded, probably because his team performed poorly all year long.

Overall, I though Trout had a better case for the MVP last year. My point has always been that I would rather have Trout on my team than Miggy. It is a personal choice because he is well rounded and more consistent. Miggy needs special attention in the field and as a baserunner.

Yup and this comes from a guy that thinks nobody except tiger fans think miggy is the MVP.....only tiger fans do...

And miggy is not a bad baserunner when healthy....

How was he adequate with the bat when he was hurt? Did you see his power numbers? He had like one extra base hit in a month.....ohhhhhhhh i forgot, you watched miggy play a whopping 27 games last year....

Show of hands in here....

How many of you guys seen miggy play more than 27 games?

Who thinks to say someone is the worst 3B defensively in the league while only seeing him play 27 games is crazy?

Who thinks someone that apologizes to other fans about miggy for being so bad defensively has issues?

Wonder who he rooted for when detroit and oakland played, since he loves beane and moneyball, but hates everything tiger related....hates miggy.....hates prince....hates vmart.....but loves some mike trout...

Anyone that knows anything about statistics knows that a 20% observation subset is more than enough to extrapolate data accurately.

I rooted for Detroit and wore the gear proudly. I thought the Tiger's pitching was outstanding.

I grew up in Warren and have always been a fan of the Tigers but I am not a fan of the way this team was built. They are poorly set up for their ballpark and poorly built for the playoffs.
