What do you guys think he can do if he starts. he looked amazing with a capitol A against the first string Seattle Defense.

I don't think he needs to sit and watch as he has watched since he was 12 watching his brother learning then how to read coverages. The more I think about it the more I believe he could be elite (one day) even this year. Think about it, his brother went to every game he played in his senior year, constantly critiquing, coaching and guiding him, showing him what not to do, teaching him what he has learned and how to avoid the mistakes he made. We know he has the skill set, but more than that he is a major competitor. Listen to some of his speeches to his teammates before kick off, you think you are watching a scene from Friday night lights (the movie) or something. The more I think about this guy the more I think the Raiders may have a real star on the horizon.

I recommend picking this guy up and right quick before it's too late!

Yeah, and he'll make rookie mistakes, but consider the Raiders' alternative. Actually might be a nice stash if your team is pretty well set.

Steelers he made a back shoulder throw to a wr with about a 10 inch window on Sherman no less. Just one of many perfect passes he through. Packages or no packages he looked good. Well see what the future brings for this guy but I like him.

I don't know what knocks, I think he fell in the draft cause his last name is Carr. He threw for the most passing yards in college last year and the fact he is on the Raiders is not a negative in my opinion since they will probably have to pass a ton to stay in games. I'm not saying he will be the next Aaron Rodgers but the funny thing is he has the same look in his eye that Rodgers has. We'll see Pitt, you might be right but i just like what i saw in that game is all.

arm strength, but he disproved alot of that in camp, ability to make some throws, and deep balls......lots of knocks he disproved............main knock, he is a raider

If you put any stock in SOS, the Raiders have the easiest schedule. Carr did look good. And I must say that I like the addition of Tuck and Woodley to the D.

I brought up Carr on one of your June threads, Foot:

I would take Carr over Manziel by a wide margin in a deep keeper league. What I would be looking for here is an accurate passer with good vision who will rack up numbers without running a lot. I think Manziel will be a better leader than many are expecting, but I think his success as a passer will be modest, and he'll get injured a lot. And he'll need a liver transplant by the time he's 50, but that won't affect his fantasy value.

Still feel that way. With the Schaub questions, he's even gonna crack my top 24 for QB rankings.

I dunno. . Didn't watch the game have seen various highlight packages, and while there was a few really nice passes, a couple of his "best" ones should have been interceptions. Dude has too much confidence in that arm and it's gonna get him in big trouble this year. Still is easily the best option in Oakland, might even be able to keep them in a few games. . But he's gonna give a few away too. The big question I have is, is he a Jeff George? Or a Brett Favre? Have to see how he responds to know for sure, but I'm not banking on much until I've seen more, in games that matter.

Not so sure that is a good thing......

Being able to make impressive throws is one thing, but making the right decisions is more important. Why force a throw into a spot like that with such a small window? Not sure the reward is greater than the risk on a play like that.

I wouldn't put much stock on one preseason game. I do see a good chance of Shaub floundering during the season and the pressure to start Carr. Still don't see much Fantasy Football value unless QBs are in short supply in your league

Carr is starting! So we won't have to wait long to see what he's got at least!
