The Broncos are rolling into the bay area on a 3 game winning streak while the 49ers will try to stop a 3 game losing streak. The Broncos will face another young QB but one they have some film to watch unlike when they were preparing for the Bengals last week. The Broncos will have to find away to piece together a secondary that hopefully can cover long enough to give the pass rushers a chance. We will see if Jewel and Wolfe can return for this week.

Sounds like Brandon Marshall should be back.

Every game brings its own unique set of challenges. A second consecutive road game in the opposite direction of the first creates risk of additional travel fatigue. Fortunately traveling west is easier than traveling east so it’s good they had this one after Cincy and not before.

We also know we’re going to get SF’s best shot. And since the Broncos are not the type of team that just obliterates lesser opponents I am guessing this game will have it’s moments where we wonder when the engine is going to get going. But unlike last year this year we have reason to be confident it will indeed get going.

This team is like the love child between the 2011 and 2015 Broncos. Some tough grinding wins and improbable timely comebacks. The 2011 team gave us more to cheer for than we’d had in years and that 2015 team...well we all remeber that.

They can keep the magic going this week and move to 7-6 on the season. And if they keep this up they are going to be a team NOBODY wants anything to do with when the playoffs begin.

Matt Breida out for niners this week. That’s a big loss for them.

Here is the how both teams rank going into the matchup this weekend:
Denver Broncos
Total Offense: 14th with 365.7 yards per game.
Rushing: 5th with 132.5 yards per game.
Passing: 23rd with 233.2 yards per game.
Scoring: 17th with 23.0 points per game.
Sacks: Tied at 11th with 28.

Total Defense: 25th with 382.8 yards per game
Rushing: 23rd with 122.1 yards per game.
Passing: 23rd with 260.7 yards per game.
Scoring: 11th with 21.8 points per game.
Sacks: Tied at 5th with 37.

Turnover Differential: Tied at 7th with +8.

San Francisco 49ers
Total Offense: 15th with 363.3 yards per game.
Rushing: 7th with 129.2 yards per game.
Passing: 21st with 234.1 yards per game
Scoring: 22nd with 21.3 points per game.
Sacks: 27th with 38.

Total Defense: 12th with 348.48 yards per game.
Rushing: 15th with 108.2 yards per game.
Passing: 13th with 240.6 yards per game.
Scoring: 29th with 28.0 points per game.
Sacks: 20th with 29.

Turnover Differential: 32nd with -20

The 49ers are really being hurt by turnovers. Outside of that they appear to have a pretty solid team. Let's hope that they turn over the ball a couple more times this weekend and the Broncos get out of Santa Clara with a W.

Do you guys like seeing these rankings? If not I can top posting them.

The stat comparison is good. I like seeing it.

We’ve heard a few times this year’s Broncos are “better than their record” and that’s an interesting claim. The W-L is the ultimate stat in this game and the Broncos were On the losing end of that too many times early. Despite playing some good teams well 3-6 was 3-6.

What’s evident now though is that the Broncos are better than the stats indicate. Despite being respectable in some categories (rushing offense, scoring defense) this team doesn’t compile impressive or good enough stat across the board to explain its recent turn of success. This is to say they’re better than their stats. This team has synergy. The sum is greater than the parts. And that’s exciting as hell because teams like this have won Super Bowls!

That’s not a prediction. This team still needs to reach 10-6 and the playoffs. But I’m only saying this because should the Broncos reach the playoffs they have got to be considered as legit a contender as any other in the AFC to win the conference.

And of course that all starts this week with a win over the Niners. Doable. They’re not going to give it away but if the broncos keep up what they’ve been doing they reach 1-0 this week and 7-6 overall.

Well with Sanders done for the year we’re gonna need to continue relying heavily on our rookie class and have Hamilton step up.

Tramaine Brock, Chris Harris, and Shaquil Barrett have been ruled out. Brandon Marshall is questionable. Good news on Jewell and Wolfe they are good to go for Sunday.

Ray’s opportunities this year have been pretty limited. But yeah he hasn’t done squat.

Shanny jr has done a great job generating offense
Their defense is terrible
Denver needs to get out to a lead and boat race the 9ers

Mullins can’t really move that well so time for pressure
