Looking at all of those Defensive statistics.......it's plain and simply evident to me that our front 7 is inept.

Our DL plays with no rage.......no arrogance........no balls.

Our LBs over-pursue constantly.......we have guys in place to make tackles on almost every single play, but we don't even make contact with them as we scoot right on by.

I still believe our Secondary is much better than the passing stats suggest. Maybe with a little more pressure on the QB the stats would change a bit. I have no problem with the way our Secondary has covered so far......they will only continue to get better.

The problem I have is with our front 7.

I think NU's secondary is fine.

The QB has all fucking day to throw.
Their receivers made a couple of nice and/or lucky catches (one batted up in the air for TD).
I think it was PJ who narrowly missed an INT (in the endzone).

All things considered, they're doing their job.

The fucking 3rd Down Conversion Rate (96th) drives me insane.

It's not like it's third and 1 or 2 smash-mouth football, they are generally third and long and they get big plays.

Yep. Every time UCLA was in a 3rd down situation last night I just had a terrible feeling in my stomach.

3rd down conversion rates usually tell quite a tale in the final results. I will definitely be including 3rd down conversion in my program that I'm making to compute rankings for all the teams in the country based on stats.

That's when you know you just don't have the athletes. You know what's wrong, you try and correct it and you still get whipped.
