You said he can't "run to save his life". I simply said he's faster than Brady ever was.

Don't start thowing in a bunch of other shit I never said nor implied to try and strengthen your statement.

No of course he's not Brady nor can he run like a Mahomes, Allen or Jackson. Mac ran a 4.43 40 while Brady ran (if you want to call that running) a 5.17 at their combines. FACT
Actually that's Brady's best 40 time. 5.28 was his combine. Hell Rich Eisen at 45 years old in a suit almost beat him.

I do understand the problem. I coached football for 40+ years. From Game #1 to Game #17, Mac was never able to read his options faster. He dropped back and surveyed at the beginning and was doing it at the end. Through seventeen games, he never made one adjustment in the pocket. He'd drop back and freeze and never once did he step forward. Bad coaching? yes. Bad ability to watch film and not be able to a self to make a self adjustment?? Yes.

Are you really comparing Mac to Brady?? To say the very least, Brady had won a Super Bowl and an MVP by this time in his career.

Brady understood what he had to do to make up for his inability to take off and run. He'd step up or sense the defense and shift left or right and find his receiver in less than two seconds. It's the difference between maple sap and maple syrup.
You simply do not understand or cannot admit you are wrong here. His rookie year he averaged 2.5 to 3 seconds from snap to release. Last year that dropped to 1.5 to 2 seconds. It was not about the reads it was about play design and shitty O Line play.

Fuck Brady this isn't about Brady stop acting as if that is a fair comparison, it simply in not. You are clinging so tightly to the past you are not open about the present or the future.

Be very careful. You cling to Belichick in exactly the same way when I say that the game is passing him by.

"I" didn't bring up Brady. NWPatsfan did and I responded.

Take a breath.

No I do not, in fact I know I have commented on wheter or not BB is keeping up with times. The last year he drafted brilliantly IMO, he did conclude "Damn this game has gotten really fast, I need speed" and he drafted speed.

Ted Johnson, former All Pro LB on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

He has received several emails and tweets from Devin McCourty and Damiean Harris amongst others. They are upset that BB did not resign Jakobi Meyers and feel that the Patriots locker room has lost a huge amount of leadership. Johnson replied that both are not going to be in the locker room next year and that others will assume those leadership roles because every year someone naturally assumes the "follow me" role.

Johnson also said that Robert Kraft likes Mac Jones much more than BB. Johnson says that Kraft will "order" Bill to extend an olive branch to Mac before the OTAs and Mini Camps. If he doesn't do it by the draft, Kraft will be in the draft room and Grogh will have a greater say about who gets drafted.

He also said that Kraft has not been a meddling owner but began getting more involved when TB12 left for Tampa Bay. According to Johnson, he's not at all happy with the mess in 2022 and is expecting a much better showing in 2023.

Well Robert, the AFC East is not a shit hole, as it just might be the toughest division in the NFL next year. The Patriots will face 15 of the best QBs in the NFL and 8 elite QBs. This is a good team, constructed of good players. There are only one or two above "good". A "good" season in the AFCE just might be 6 wins. The Patriots might be looking at a top 5 pick in the 2024 draft.

Fuck Ted Johnson. He hates Belichick more than you do!
You do this every year! The sky is falling!
You live in Florida now. Have you considered bringing all this joy to the Dolphins board?
You'd love Paolo and the Miami team?

Well you are over reacting a bit here son.

Yeah Ted hates BB and I question the authenticity of his comments. DMAC does not seem the type that would snitch and Harris is bitter b/c he is likely gone. Just b/c you relocate does not mean you loyalties should. He was putting out what he heard not the end of the world. Take a Valium once in a while.

You are an idiot.

QB’s we are facing:

Pickett
Howell
D Jones
Garoppolo
Wilson
Prescott
Dolphins?????
Jets????
Colts????

Mahomes
Herbert
Allen
Hurts

4 elite. The rest are fucking garbage! Even if the jets get Rodgers… he isn’t elite anymore. Do your damn homework old man.

People have opinions and make comments that others don't like or don't want to hear. Sort of like being a democrat and hating Trump or being a Republican and hating Biden. Sometimes hearing what others have to say ignites a passion or ignites anger. Johnson may hate Belichick, but he often causes one to think about things a little bit differently.

I don't hate BB. I do believe that today's NFL is passing him by. He's old scholl and his way worked for a very long time. Problem is that he refuses to modernize himself and see that his way no longer works. He's a defensive minded coach and the league has moved to a highly mobile, flexible offensive league.

I previously posted the the highest paid Patriots and only one makes more than $15M and that's Judon. Only five make over $10M. If a team can pay several players over $20M and be in the Super Bowl constantly AND put a tremendous offense and better than average defense on the field, then why can't the Patriots? For the [ast three years:

1. Don't have an elite QB
2. Don't have an elite WR or TE

Bill showed us three years ago that he couldn't build a team even when he had $140M to spend in free agency.

Next year he's going to lose a bunch of guys and will have $163,000,000 plus to spend. I'll be honest. I don't trust him to spend those dollars properly and land elite players. He'll spread it out and sign 16 players on the third day of free agency and the Patriots will finish in the middle of the league and out of the playoffs.

And BB signs another ST player for $3.75M a year.

The New England Patriots hosted safety C.J. Moore on a visit Friday, as first reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Moore, 27, spent the previous four seasons with the Detroit Lions and returned to the active roster following a week-long stint on the practice squad of the Houston Texans last October.

The 5-foot-11, 199-pound Ole Miss product has played 344 snaps on defense and 1,078 snaps on special teams since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

A veteran of 56 career games and the role of personal punt protector, Moore stands with 48 tackles, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed, including an interception returned 21 yards.

His identical twin brother, current Tennessee Titans defensive back A.J. Moore, signed with the Patriots as part of the 2018 undrafted class and was claimed off waivers following his rookie preseason.

New England previously hosted wide receiver Olabisi Johnson, defensive end Trey Flowers, linebackers Andrew Van Ginkel and Chris Board, as well as safety Taylor Rapp on Thursday. And signed a Special Teams player.

"Winning" free agency never gives good results.
Go ahead and beg for OBJ give him all our money!
Sign Orlando Brown for LT. Give him top LT money for an average OT!

"Brown had to make adjustments in Kansas City after some early-season struggles, notably in Week 1 against Myles Garrett, but he settled in as the season progressed. The 6-foot-8, 345-pound tackle out of Oklahoma finished the year with a 74.4 PFF pass-blocking grade — the lowest of his career but still a respectable mark.

He projects as a good, not great, starter for Kansas City, which makes the upcoming contract negotiation between the two sides an interesting one to follow."

Key pickup for our special teams. We are assembling a very good ST's squad after a miserable effort last year.

I agree, but could we have drafted an equally good ST player and not spent $6.7M on him? Do we need a CB or Safety more than a LB/ST? Or possibly signed someone like CB Rock Ya-Sin, OG Dalton Risner or CB Marcus Peters? Now is when the bargains become available. Or maybe even Jadeon Clowney who can't find a team and just might have one exceptional year left.

This is where my bitchin' comes in with Bill. Signing Cardona and another ST falls right back into something that Bill has always prided himself in being among the best. I know that ST let everyone down at the very end of 2022, but they were not horrible for the previous 16 games. Punter was horrific but not the entire ST. I hope the money and effort can win a few ball games.

We need to improve ST's because we had problems when the game was on the line.
We need to improve the offense because it sucked.
We need to improve the defense because we need to constantly improve.

It will come and it has never been fast enough for you.

When you shop at a bargain store do you just start throwing everything in the cart or do you shop around a bit?

Sorry Ken, but STs pretty muched sucked all year compared to years past. BB prides himself on winning all three sides of the ball. Yep, the kicking sucked that was a big part of it. We all know the offensive problems.

BB is doing his due dillegence. Bill praised this kids ST ability. BB likely has his eye on a left footed punter from no name U, and a kicker from Australia that no one is tracking. I think NE will have a top rated ST next year.

We still have lots of $ and the draft. I like what BB is doing so far. Just need a couple more pieces now.

The defense sucked against elite QBs with above average WRs in 2022. They were very good against average or below.

2023 is going to be a brutal year for this defense.

I agree that ST is a need, but ST is not going to slow down or stop a highly mobile offense or score against a staunch defense. The Patriots NEED a shut down CB and a #! WR. Having the best Special Teams does not win football games.

These signings are not breaking the bank. There is still $ left to make moves.

STs certainly can win and lose games for you. Last year was a perfect example.
