If you look pre super bowl than Lions look pretty pretty good!Yeah, but once you hit 50 it's a lot easier to fight off love handles with the diet lol
The Lions.. LMAO. They could draft Lawrence Taylor and Reggie White in the first two rounds and still not make the Super Bowl
Brother I realize the futility my Cowboys have faced the last 25+ years. They could be argued as the best franchise ever in 95, haven't sniffed a Super Bowl since. That said, I think the Lions would gladly trade their last 27 years for the Cowboys last 27. Mediocre is mediocre, but it still beats dog crapIf you look pre super bowl than Lions look pretty pretty good!
How far back is it acceptable to count previous success? That question has absolutely nothing to do with the Cowboys probably.
Not too many teams in the league period that Lions would not trade places with. Never would argue against that.Brother I realize the futility my Cowboys have faced the last 25+ years. I personally think the Cowboys and Lions have the same problem, as far as wanting to win Super Bowls is concerned. They both have solid NFL QB's, but not a future HOFer. If you go back over the last 30 Super Bowl winners, 26 winners had QB's that are in or will be in the HOF. Only 4 winners had guys with no shot. You have to pay guys like Dak and Goff because you have to have a QB, but, if either guy wins a SB, I think it will be as part of a great team, not because they carried oneNot too many teams in the league period that Lions would not trade places with. And it's why the Browns took a risk and traded for a QB or else they were in purgatory with a talented team.Exactly why teams like the Vikings and Raiders get stuck at where they are...
I don't either but it seems like public perception is all that guaranteed money with a guy sorting out civil cases is a risk. I'm with you. A 26 year old star QB in his prime, if he misses 6 games ohh well, they have him for a long time possibly to build around.I dont know if Id call the Browns going after Watson a 'risk' exactly. Sticking with Baker is a risk.
7 of those 26 winners were Tom Brady. He kinda warps everything when talking about what it takes to win a Super Bowl.
Its really, really difficult to keep an elite defense together, though. So QB is the best way
I don't really think it warps it, I think it reinforces it. Go back past that...HOF guys rarely win just one. Brady 7, Montana 4, Bradshaw 4, Aikman 3, Peyton 2, Staubach 2...I dont know if Id call the Browns going after Watson a 'risk' exactly. Sticking with Baker is a risk.

Lions had a QB that now has an outside chance of getting into the Hall and could not even make the playoffs with him. I like that they seem to be building an actual roster now. That will be a refreshing change of pace. Goff has only ever been a place holder.I personally think the Cowboys and Lions have the same problem, as far as wanting to win Super Bowls is concerned. I thought about my boy Tommy(Nos, Vikings) there. If the Vikings had the Cowboys QB's over the years they would have about 10 ringsExactly why teams like the Vikings and Raiders get stuck at where they are...
It takes a HOF QB to consistently get to a SB but it takes surrounding talent to win one. Thats generally what Ive seen.I don't really think it warps it, I think it reinforces it. Go back past that...HOF guys rarely win just one. Brady 7, Montana 4, Bradshaw 4, Aikman 3, Peyton 2, Staubach 2...

I'm just curious about 3 of your first 4 picks. This has been a weird draft for me... everytime i have been up, i have felt like the jets would be better off trading that pick for more picks and more depth... But trades dont work in these mocks...
I also know that my philosophy for bad teams is not one that real teams share... so i know that the Jets are going to be drafting a bunch of defensive players early.... probably will be taking 3 Defenders in their top 4 picks(unless they make some trades)...
Jets had the worst defense in the league last year, too.I'm just curious about 3 of your first 4 picks.
R1 & R2 - OT - Isn't Becton improving and becoming a force? I get they need a RT but with Becton, Vera-Tucker and McGovern I figure they look pretty good for 3 of the 5 OL spots. Why 2 tackles?
R3 - RB - Isn't Michael Carter a stud?
Brady? Absolutely man. Dude is 45 and still as good as anyone in the game lol. He gets dinged because he doesn't look like Tarzan, but I think he could have gone to a lot of teams and had similar success. Go through all the teams over the last 20 years and imagine Brady as their QB instead of whoever they had. How about Shane's Brown's the last few years? Tommy's Vikings the last 20 years. Hell, my Cowboys. If Brady had the OL the Cowboys have had the last 10 years, the WR's, etc? He made the Patriots far more than they made himi do think there is a huge difference between best career and best talent... almost never the same person... Brady is the best QB ever.... but do you really think if he was thrown into a different situation he would have had 7 championships.... even 2???
