It will be interesting but I think this could be a good thing for the Warriors. Brings out the Curry, Klay, Iggy, Money Green, Bogut lineup. Which I think is the best lineup they can put out. Thoughts?

Wasn't he out last year too, which is why Barnes played so many minutes and did so well?

Seems a lifetime ago, but Barnes was great in the playoffs last year...now look at him...

A lot of why Barnes had success last year in the playoffs was because of his matchups. They were dream ones for him against Denver who played small and got up and down the court. Likewise the Spurs stuck with their two bigs and he was able to get an offensive mismatch as well.

The two likely opponents for the W's will be the Clips or the Rockets. Both of those teams are highly athletic and don't really create any advantages for him.

I do think with Lee out it sort of evens out with the production we lose with him versus the opportunities it creates. Dray has been a revelation this year. He's earned every single one of his minutes. It's really unfortunate that Lee makes as much as he does because he's a perfect big for us off the bench. His contract doesn't really justify putting him on the second unit. We have trouble scoring on the second unit and that's the biggest attribute Lee has.

I don't necessarily feel the Warriors are better without Lee, but I think it creates some opportunities to cross match against teams and give them different looks.

In our only win against Houston, Lee had 28 and 14 and in our three wins against the Clips had 23 and 13 and 22 and 11(blowout win) and 20 and 7 (blowout win).

I think warriors are a better team with Green in crunch time and lee coming off the bench. As a super 6th man.
We have 2 wins vs the clips not 3

I love Draymond, but he isn't big enough to guard Blake Griffin, who's likely to have a field day if we do play the Clips in the first round. Lee isn't very effective either, but Griffin can't push him around quite as much as he can Green. Too bad Festus isn't available for spot minutes as he has the size and athleticism to guard big pf's.

I remember the season was already over and done with, so I was surprised to read that he was undergoing major knee surgery. At that time (back in mid June) his recovery was estimated at 6-9 months. Unless something changes quickly, it looks like he's going to miss the entire season. Too bad for the W's who could use his size and low post presence for targeted rotation minutes in the playoffs with Lee potentially out.

I think some folks are misguided here. D.Lee's passing, offensive efficiency, rebounding, are things we can't replace.

You cant replace his Allstar caliber production with one player. Will D.Green be useful against some teams? Sure. But he isn't the caliber of player WCW is. And I actually love what D.Green brings off the bench. Key phrase being "off the bench".

Our bench is better with DG on the bench. Just as its better with JO , Speights, Blake, JC and even HB sitting at the far end of the bench.

D.Lee needs to get healthy ASAP if we are going to go anywhere in these playoffs.

If Clippers beat OKC on wed they would have 1 less loss and also own the tiebreaker so basically they will be 2 games up with a week up on the yr

This.

His offensive production is so important to this team. His scoring and passing ability are underrated. With out him, its too much pressure on curry and Thompson to provide scoring, especially Thompson. Thompson is hot and cold. On a night he doesn't show up to play, we need Lee and his scoring ability. He's almost un-guardable down on the low block. He's deadly with his left or right hand. He will shit on griffin. When they come to double, it then leaves wide open shooters. His defense can be a liability at times, but griffin has been owning everyone this year. Griffin will need to be doubled regardless of who is on him.

Then there's the bench. Starting Draymond depletes the bench. Our bench is mediocre at best and to take away our most productive bench player and putting him in the starting lineup will really hurt us especially if Jackson continues his substitution style....First team and then second team BS

I am almost certain the dubs will end up playing the Clips in the first round. Without Lee, its a sweep or 4-1 series in favor of Lob city.

You don't want Bogut exclusively guarding Griffin. That adds up to fouls, and it also takes Bogut out of the low post, since Griffin is now a good spot up shooter. Between Griffin and Jordan, the Warriors will have their issues particularly if they are without Lee. Lee isn't great a defending Griffin, but he usually has no problem scoring on him, and at least makes him work on defense.

I love Green's defense, and wouldn't mind having him in the game in crunch time , IF we had a lead, but folks also forget he's shot below 40% at times this year and shoots the majority of his shots from 20 feet and out.

When he's out there bricking 3 point shots, he doesn't get to lose balls and/or doesn't block off his man to prevent them from getting the rebound.

The best defense sometimes is a good offense.

Would be closer than a 4-5 game series.

That's not good but they did well in the playoffs last year without him.

I hope not. OKC is the type of big rough and tumble team that the Warriors struggle against because of our poor rebounding habits.

Classic Toby.

Again, Toby, you really suck at this. Just watch the games, no need to post about them.
