The Patriots better sign Darrelle Revis and not use the salary cap as an excuse. We all know the salary cap can be manipulated. They are among five lowest actual cash spending teams Raiders, Panthers, Jets, Jaguars and Patriots. Pay the man his money and don't cheap out.

If Revis wanted to be in NE, a deal would have been done. Not saying it is not done and maybe NE is trying to move around money (restructure/cut guys) before they make it official. IMO he is gone. NYJ will pay him a ton and them cut Harvin to make room. He got his ring, and nothing about Revis tells me that he will not take the most money.

Revis is a professional. Nothing wrong with him listening to the offers. There will be offers but NE is not just walking the other direction.....

Have to imagine the Jets will be the frontrunner for his services. He's familiar with the team, stays in the Northeast, they have the caproom and the need as well as a defensive minded coach.

he can be content to playing only 16 games a season there.

He showed signs of decline this past season.

Revis? I doubt you watched much of his play last year. He shut down every opponent's #1 WR he faced. He was healthy and returned as the best shutdown corner in the league. There was no decline, it was a bounce back year coming off an injury for Revis.

I'm hoping either the Falcons or Jaguars sign him. He would be a good move for both teams.

I don't think there's any question he want's to see what his options are. It's also really good leverage against the Pats to get a better deal.

Ty Law after in his career regretted somewhat (that's somewhat) leaving the Patriots but when you're an athlete with short period of time to set yourself and your family up, you do what you have to do.

Let's all get the facts in order.

First, the Patriots did NOT refuse to pick up the Revis $20M option as reported yesterday. They don't have to make that decision until $:00 PM today.

Second, The New England Patriots at this very moment are $12.6M over the proposed salary cap of $143.5M

Third, the Patriots and Revis have been negotiating an extension to his contract since last Thursday. The hang-up from individuals who really DON'T know is guaranteed money.

Word is that several New England Patriots employees will be cleaning out their work stations today. Johnathan Kraft is really pissed off about information leaving Gillette Stadium and somebody's going to be made an example of........bet it don't happen again......

Not bad that helped bring a Superbowl to New England. If the Cowboys made a play for him would you be upset?
The Cowboys secondary is a mess so anyone would be an upgrade.

Probably already mentioned but the Pats are also not picking up Browner's option.

Maybe he goes back to Seattle.
That would be awkward...
