Regardless, his teams out-preformed expectations. This is good news for the Wolverines, but bad news for college football. I wish him well in future endeavours!!!
Not in the last 3 or 4 years, they didn't.

Yeah, it looks like they are going to need a hire similar to that one or Matt Rhule's at Baylor. Someone that is willing to weather a coming storm.I might give Matt Luke a call as he pulled Ole Miss out of the fire and kept the program moving forward regardless of the Freeze and probation cloud.
They could do a lot worse.
Dantonio really fell off the ledge in the last 4 seasons. Despite a miracle comeback in 2015, he still had a losing record vs. Harbaugh.Regardless, his teams out-preformed expectations. This is good news for the Wolverines, but bad news for college football. I wish him well in future endeavours!!!
Ummm doesn’t pretty much every head coach do that when they are hired in January?I just don't understand the plan here. Even if Luke Fickell comes; what is he going to take his whole staff? Ignore the entire class that he just signed? Accept the Dantonio garbage class that he just didn't have a part in signing? Why would fickell do that?

Some of me now wonders if that was entirely just luck on hitting it rich on two under rated QB recruits. Every other year was average, to bad, while he was there.Yeah, I felt like he had jumped the shark, and I really didn't fear him like I did prior to Harbaugh. He really knew how to get the most out of 2* and 3* kids, but the past few years he seems to have faded.
Heck of a career, and I wish the worst on MSU in picking his replacement.
Or, wait for it, reshuffling the staff and just giving someone already there the job.Fickell is the obvious choice, but if he doesn't leave, I'd throw everything else at Brian Hartline.
I can see MSU doing the bleh move of hiring Narduzzi though.
I don't think Fickell is gonna go. He just brought in a legit elite recruit at QB, has brought in some really nice high-end transfers, and is on the path to possibly becoming another Boise State. This would be a reclamation project for a guy who has it made right now. Better offers could be coming in the not-so-distant future.
Narduzzi would make more sense. He seems to be in a rut at Pitt, and he obviously has a stronger tie to MSU than Fickell.
