College is a much harder job.

Year round.

NBA is triple the $ for half the work.

That said, I know people who have that situation in real life too

Yeah. Idk why he would stay besides history and la is a Philly style shithole

It is harder in many ways. Easier in others.

Biggest difference is college coaches have full control over their rosters and their eventual success.

NBA coaches don’t.

So for that reason, in an industry where there is very little job security, a good college coach has a lot more.

Yep...probably one of the main reasons why guys like Coach K, Dean Smith, Denny Crum, Jim Boeheim didn't make the jump...and why Tom Izzo, & Mark Few haven't.

NBA coaches don't have to deal with NIL, the D League, the Transfer portal, conference realignment. And the "winner take all" playoffs in CBB. An NBA team can have a dominant season, have a bad game in the playoffs and still cut down nets. In CBB you can go 31-0, have a howler in March and go home with shit. It will be interesting to see how UConn deals with the new plans to pay players. They are hamstrung by having a fraction of the football revenue of a Big 10 or SEC team

They have to factor in at least 6/50M for Hurley too (latest extension offer).

And the track record of those who did try the NBA. Beilein, Calipari, Pitino, Leonard Hamilton, Tim Floyd. Only one coach has won an NCAA and NBA title

Brad Stevens is the more appropriate comp IMO.

They’ve already had that to some extent

But they will continue to focus on guys who want to play there and not who only care about the highest bidder

Whatever UConn is paying him isn't enough 15 years ago, he was a HS coach with a well known brother. Now he's the author of the two greatest NCAA runs, post Wooden Era

Welcome to the Lakers where one of your aging superstars doesnt know if he's even going to be on the team next season because of where his son may go.
