Woj dropping a mini-bomb here on Shams and everyone else that might go unnoticed. Redick hasn't actually interviewed with the Lakers yet

Bahahaha he turned down LA

He was shaking down UConn for more money.

He could enter college immortality if he wins another this year.

I could see him eventually going pro. But leaving now would have been a huge black mark on his legacy just to go to a team whose best player is going to ignore you.

Turned it down. 6/70M was the offer. Where did the 100m rumor come from?

Where do the Lakers pivot? Is JJ next up, or have they soured on him?
Wow. That was a great gig to take

There was a rumor over the weekend that Jay Wright is a "stealth candidate".

Could have announced this earlier. Think it over sure, but any time this morning would have been fine.

He probably wanted to call the lakers before announcing

"Formal" interview. I'm sure they've spoken.

I've seen suggestions that Jay Wright could be a candidate, not sure how valid those are.

Edit: ninjaed, lol

There's a big difference tho. You don't get hired off talks and many reports, even from credible people, acted like JJ had his pen on the paper

The rumors were so pervasive with JJ, really odd. Rumor mill really is an echo chamber lol.

Maybe JJ Reddick gets it after all, huh. I think Hurley was wise to pass, even though I really doubt Uconn can three-peat.

If that was really the offer, he was never leaving.

I doubt that was a reason. I suspect it just wasn't the right pro job for him. Clearly the Lakers are approaching a rebuild after Lebron and AD.

College is a much harder job grind wise Imo

Not even nba gm and college hc is as bad Imo

College is a much harder job.

Year round.

NBA is triple the $ for half the work.

That said, I know people who have that situation in real life too
