It depends on the Lakers finding a worthy MLE target, and those options are fading fast. Maybe he would give back less for smaller additions, but who knows.

He's been their main target for the MLE, but that may have shifted to a S&T since that is likely what Dallas is offering. For the Lakers, using the MLE is vastly preferable to a S&T at a higher salary sending assets to the Warriors that could be used in other trades IMO, not sure it's worth the chase at that point.
