I'm sure if the Wizards ever ha a modicum of competency they'd made the list too.
Is this multiverse theory?

some good points.....Sure, coaching matters, but players matter far more. Though I guess need a coach where player would be willing to go play for. Is that Hurley? It'd be the biggest waste of money in modern sports in my opinion.
COULD they win a title eventually with Hurley? Yes, but they could also win one eventually with Tom Thibodeau.
And it's not like the Lakers need help to market their team.
That's western capitalism though. Throw a ton of money at people and roll the dice.
Exactly...if I had to choose I think I'd sake Hurley over JJ but no reason to think JJ could not do as well as many of the retread options. All head coaches have that first job. It's about the individual hire, not just the experience level.
He doesn't have NBA experience, but he's a great college coach, he's known for developing players and apparently Lebron really likes his offense.
I'd much rather they hire him than Reddick
NFL too.look at saban/spurrier.I'm always leery about CBB coaches that make the jump to the NBA with no experience in the league. Most don't work out.
Still only had experience as a college coach pre bench coach and at much smaller school than Hurley
probably the best ever from college coaching.Saban & Spurrier obviously weren't good in the NFL. Then you gotta guy like Jimmy Johnson that had great success jumping from CFB to the NFL.
Isn't today the day Hurley's meeting with the Lakers?

as good as he was,his Miami years were decent at best.JJ's the best I can think of.
I do like Lue. Kidd impressive this year for sure, but would have seriously hesitated on him earlier.I think JJ could work, but I'll easily take Hurley if he's interested over any of the available coaches this hiring cycle. If Lue and Kidd were actually available, then the discussion starts.
Yes and per Woj....things could escalate quickly.Isn't today the day Hurley's meeting with the Lakers?
Redick never played in Miami.as good as he was,his Miami years were decent at best.
