I believe that there is one player in this draft that is as close to an A.P. type stylistically and that's Perine. If his health holds up, how do you see him as the perfect replacement for Peterson in Minnesota?

Really Sty. Another OU friend mentioned this some yrs ago. I don’t see Perine as another AD. Of course every one has there own opinion and rightful so. Everybody have their own perceptions. Perine reminds me of Don Nottingham, the RB for the Baltimore Colts during the early 1970’s and Jerome Bettis. They both run like a little tractor that just keeps churning alone and always going forward. A bowling ball type of RB.

I see Leonard Fournette as an AD type of back, maybe b/c they are both 6-1 and have a reckless running style.

Peterson is strong but he is no Perine. Perine is the strongest player on OU football team, yes he can out lift all of our D an O lineman. He bench press 450 and squat 600. So I was surprise that Perine was not among the top 5 strongest player at the NFL combine. He finish 7th Only Lamp Asiata Qualls and 3 others which I can’t remember their names. They were all O and D lineman, so this gives you and idea how strong Perine is. I see Perine being part of a dual RB tandem with Perine being the Thunder. I see Perine also as a goal line or short yardage back early on in the NFL.

I hate to sound bias here but I know OU players so quite naturally I will talk more about them in depth than other college players. For those who like the excellent character type of guy then Perine is your man from an OU point of view. He has a Earl Campbell type of demeanor. Not very vocal rather quite. Always in the weight room not in the lime light but rather stays in the background. Watch his TD runs, when he scores he acts like he’s been there before. No dancing or shouting. Scores the TD and goes to the sideline.

At the risk of sounding like a dick.... that would make him entirely too boring for Dan and Bruce to consider. Solid character, non flashy work horse..... Our front office has likely never heard of him.
