The punch he hit that woman with. Right cross. He is one anger outburst from gone.

Agreed. With the current social agenda of women can not be touched, Mixon will always be on the watch list going forward. If he gets drafted late 1st round I will be surprised. But if he falls to the 3rd round I wont. Kid has the goods, but in todays social climate, he is damaged goods before he even gets drafted.

I'll still take him on my team. Yolo

I probably would take him too. But most Gms are going to be a little anal retentive about drafting him because if he looks at a woman the wrong way, Godell will suspend him

I heard in a podcast that 5 teams have taken him off their radar and not even scouting him. That's foolish IMO

I think I'd be fine with us drafting him as long as it isn't too early but I don't blame teams who take him off their boards. It's not like they don't realize he's talented he just might not be worth it for some orgs. And you have to draw the line somewhere on both distractions and character and I don't know where that line really should be. Tough to say.

As a 3rd or 4th round pick he could be great. First round is over reaching for any RB and one that is one mistake from gone is a terrible idea. You guys would love to draft him in the 1st round but IF he screws up again you would not be happy. I don't have anything against the kid and he should get a chance to redeem himself, just not as a 1st or 2nd rounder.

He was 18 years old when it happened. As far as we know, that was his only disgression. If it wasn't on video, it would have been virtually forgotten. I don't have a problem giving him a second chance.

He was also suspended a game earlier this year for an incident with a parking attendant.

I wouldnt be against us taking him either. But in todays climate, the concept of boys will be boys, or he just has a quick temper is no longer acceptable. We live in a country where 60-70% of the population is walking around with a video camera in their pocket, and people are looking for ways to get hold of other peoples money. So sadly as talented as he is, until he in in the NFL and can manage to NOT be the center of negative attention for a bit, teams will be cautious.

This place is a circus for the media, Mixon would get suspended for punching a wall.
He is not a good fit here. Still not sure how the Crowder incident worked out so well.

It isn't about a 2nd chance it is about where to pick him. If it was me I would want to draft him later. Besides the incident RBs just aren't drafted as high as they used to be, why change that now?

Not on the face of it I dont think its a problem. But I do think the whole mind set of women are untouchable needs to be re-examined a little. From the vidoe associated with the first incedent, she was the agressor. While i agree he should have walked away, at some point self defense does, or atleast should come into play. I said the same thing about Gallette... and i would say the same thing even if it was my own daughter/sister or mother... If you get into the habit of thinking its OK to attack a man because society will side with you... at some point you might just find the guy who is not going to quietly sit there and take you putting your hands on him. By the same token, I tell my sons.. its never ok to hit a woman.. but if she comes at you like a man defend yourself within reason.

I would advise - Know you CANNOT win by hitting a female, so avoid the situation - walk away pretty much no matter what - regardless of what your pride tells you in the heat of the moment.

Again I agree, and in about 80% of the cases, this will work. But there will always be cases where the man wasnt the aggressor tried to walk away and shit went side ways. Which is why i think these things need to be looked at on a case by case basis instead of assuming the guy is automatically in the wrong. I have seen too many cases where the police role up and handcuff a guy sitting there with his head bleeding only to find out he was ACTUALLY trying to walk away when she clocked him in the back of the head with the skillet. And the fact that there is a standing order in most police departments to escort the male off the premises in any DV situation is a tad bullsnit as far as Im concerned.

Absolutely, I cannot say that I have followed him for as long as you have, however, as you know I began to notice Mixon while following the career of Samaje Perine another OU running back that when healthy will contribute to the right team. We both believe that Mixon is the best back in this draft, but I want your opinion about a theory that I have about Perine.

I believe that there is one player in this draft that is as close to an A.P. type stylistically and that's Perine. If his health holds up, how do you see him as the perfect replacement for Peterson in Minnesota?

Well Sty sound like you know a little about Perine. The last 2 yrs Perine had a chronically injured ankle. When he ran for 427 yds in one game he did that on an injured ankle that wasn’t 100 %. Last yr he eventually had surgery to repair a ligament.

I mentioned this before my affiliation with school of OU. So just like the Skins I don’t miss a OU game on Saturdays ever. I am an 1982 grad. I think Perine can be a workhorse RB in some capacity in the NFL. He's tremendously powerful and runs low with his shoulders. Very seldom does one defender bring him down. He is a good pass blocker. He needs to prove his pass catching skills and does not have good speed to out flank the opposing Def. That may be a big problem, he is rather one dimensional which is why he is under rated. But he is a perfect power I RB.
