And now Marc Stein is reporting it's "official". Jordan has told the Clippers he's leaving and the Mavs that he will sign with them for 4 years and $80M.

Dirk + Parsons + Jordan + Matthews should be enough for a top 4 seed in the West, provided that they can fill in the rest of their roster with decent usable pieces (guys like Jefferson, Villanueva, Barea, etc.)

Finally the Mavs get to "win" an offseason.

I hate the idea of Aldridge in San Antonio, but Jordan would look fantastic in a Mavericks jersey
The Bucks signed the best free agent available in Monroe. Why couldn't Mark Cuban have offered him a deal he couldn't refuse?

Monroe was not the best FA. He was the 3rd best available big man. Especially not for the Mavs. He's slow and isn't a great defender. We needed an agile defender that can make up for Dirk's porous D.

I disagree. Monroe is a banger underneath the basket and an offensive force inside but I'm not complaining about who we got.

I didn't say anything about his offense. I know he has offensive game. We needed a defender in the paint. Tyson 2.0.

Your credit was shot when you said Monroe was the best available FA.

We can agree to disagree.

Really glad the Mavs landed DeAndre Jordan, but DeAndre Jordan is a prime example of why I and some others on here wish the Mavs would take their 2nd round picks more seriously instead of just wasting them on publicity stunts like Singh and other Euro stiffs who have no remote chance of ever seeing an NBA court. 2nd round picks are often busts and the success rate in that round is really low. But guys like Patrick Beverley, Draymond Green, and DeAndre Jordan were all snagged in the 2nd round. You're never going to land a longshot star player in the 2nd if you don't at least try. Picking foreigners who most draft analysts haven't even heard of instead of solid NCAA players is just wasteful.

You're being kind with classifying him as porous. He's actually more non-existent.

And to make matters worse, Parsons is almost as bad as Dirk.

If he was going to leave Portland, it was a no brainer to sign with the Spurs. The lakers / Knicks / Heat suck now. Mavericks and Rockets could only acquire him via sign and trade.[/QUOT

Oh I agree. But this is what you posted earlier. Made it sound like a "way out there prediction" which we both knew it wasn't.

I predict Jordan to Mavs and Aldridge to the Spurs......He called it...... Still say Aldridge to Spurs btwE]

Now it's gonna be interesting, at least to me, too see if West heads to the Spurs as well.

I think I deserve a little credit for calling Jordan to the Mavs. He passed up a lot more money, living in LA, and playing on a top 5 caliber team to play with Dirk and Parsons. I knew how much Chris Paul and Deandre hated each other. CP3 is good, but the guy is a total prick. He never shuts up and complains to the ref at least 50 times a game.

OK.....I'll grant ya a "little" credit.

But from the get-go it seems many/most felt it was 50-50 if Jordan would leave the Clippers. So it isn't a total shocker/comes outta left-field to see him move on.

Paul is one demanding SOB. Given. But his complaint about DeAndre not practicing to shoot his FT better was valid.

Paul's bitching to the refs really doesn't have much to do with the conversation really. And Dirk ain't a choirboy when it comes to this category either.
