Cowboys re-signed CB Anthony Brown to a three-year contract.
Brown lost starting slot duties last season then suffered a torn triceps. The Cowboys still regarded him highly enough as a reserve to hand out a multi-year deal. Brown has made 33 starts since 2016 and is still only 26 years old.

Cowboys signed CB Maurice Canady to a one-year contract.
Canady played five games with the Ravens last season before being waived and signing on with the Jets in November. Although he wouldn't ordinarily start for most teams, the Cowboys are in a dire position following the losses of Byron Jones and Jeff Heath in free agency. It would not be shocking to see Canady land in Dallas' starting lineup next year.
Actually it would be shocking to see him in the starting lineup IMO

I wanted Lewis to play over Brown last year, but once Brown went out, Lewis was much worse. With as shitty as Awuzie was Brown may be our best CB right now which says a lot about our DBs

Eric Reid is now a free agent. Should the Cowboys take a chance on him?

Couple McCoy & Kinlaw. I would like it! :thumb:
Kinlaw body type is similar to David Irving then add about 35 pounds. If Kinlaw is there at 17 there is no way I pass.. Kinlaw could be special. Explosive off the snap and he has a high motor which is a must. He could be there depending on how many QBs go off the board before our pick.

I think I will pass. Just think he is a cancer. Dont need that in the locker room especially if we draft a bunch of new defenders.. Would he help on the field? Probable as our safeties other than woods suck. But why not draft a safety in The second or third round?

Reid is a proven commodity while the draft is a gamble. I agree that he has character issues but he is also a darn good safety.

Canady had more interceptions last season then Byron Jones. Well lots of corners did.

Kai Forbath to return. I like the move. He is established and has kicked at a high level for most of his career

Cowboys re-signed G/C Joe Looney to a one-year contract.
With Travis Frederick back from his illness last season, Looney started just one game after starting all 16 the previous year. He is a fine backup option along the interior and good locker-room guy.

Detroit trades Slay to the Eagles
The Eagles are going to need more than slay to cover the Cowboys receivers. In that loss in philly the cowboys receivers were open all game but kept dropping the ball

We would have just kept Jones for that price. Why would we give up picks and more money to a guy that had a clearly inferior season instead of just keeping Jones

Anyone know where we're at with the current cap? Last I looked we had only 20 million and that was using the rollover.

When you have multiple mid round picks to give up and can get out of contact after 2 years, and you also fill a position of need , is a good deal IMO.

I wouldn't say we have multiple mid round picks to give up with all of our holes and again the point is why would you trade picks and give a bigger contract to Slay than Jones received instead of just keeping Jones? Even if you think Slay is better (he hasn't been for a while) he needs to be a lot better for that to be a smart move
