Carson Palmer has thoughts...

Well he is not exactly wrong but that is not the point for players as they have “contract amnesia “ the day after they retire. I don’t blame Dak for wanting to get paid nor Jerry for wanting a Longer contract. With everything I have read per the negotiations and how much is fact or speculation is certainly up for grabs. I wonder if Daks agent is not angling for FA unless the Cowboys cave to every little caveat in the negotiation. Bold Prediction if they have to franchise him again I think the odds are he heads to FA and not long term with the Cowboys don’t want that but as Cowboy fans we may have to face that reality. I fully hope I’m wrong.
And I’m not hating I’m sadly speculating I have not dipped into the cold beers........................

yet.

Russell Wilson makes 34 mil a season, as we know he is superior to Prescott, so..........32ish a season for 4 sounds right to me.

At this point I’m just about resigned to the fact that we have one more year of Dak before descending back into the 5-11 abyss again... ala the Campo era.

Good job, Jerry.

I'll agree Wilson deserves more than Dak, but obviously you don't know jack about how NFL contracts work.

He also doesn’t know (or chooses to ignore) Jerry’s insistence on a 5 year deal.

All I know about the Cowboys is they came real close to being called The Rangers and were in the western conference at the beginning. Then there was Eddie LeBaron their 5-8 QB,

Which has absolutely zero to do with how Jerry has botched negotiating a deal with QB1.

Well when ya try to play.......he doesn't know........just thought a reality check was in order. What would you like to know about the Cowboys.

OBVIOUSLY......Jerry has botched this. who isn't aware of that?

I am with Jerry on the 5 year deal. unless he doesnt want a signing bonus. I agree Jerry should stick to the 5 year deal.

spotrac estimates that Dak should rate a 4 year, $147+M. so offer him 4 years $150M with the whole contract guaranteed + a player option 5th year at $50M.

2021: $31M
2022: $35M
2023: $39M
2024: $45M
2025(PO): $50 or $7.5M buyout

You know it's possible Dak will be more willing to sign a 5 year, maybe even longer, knowing another injury could kill another opportunity.

This injury while betting on himself has to be swirling around in his brain like it's a Category 5 hurricane.
