I see that the talking tumor Skip Bayless is using another Cowboys QB to make a complete ass out of himself again today...

Still boggles the mind how he continues to be employed by a major broadcasting enterprise.

I can’t stress this enough, fuck Skip Bayless. Not only is he an asshole but he’s a stupid one at that.

I am back with my monthly observation...

The price of a starting QB in the NFL never goes down.

Never.

Here's a graph.

So $31M last year was a bargain. If we signed him last year his 2020 cap hit would have been artificially low like it always is for first year Cowboy singings (and most NFL players and QBs in particular) and higher in 2021 when the cap space is most needed. Now we got off cheap last year and will benefit from a low year one salary in 2021 after we sign him this Spring/Summer.

Plus as horrible as it would have been if he were to have suffered a career ending injury against the Giants instead of season ending (or shit the bed and played like Wentz) we would have been screwed going forward. Putting off giving out huge deals has an upside

Nearly every high end negotiation we fans hope Jerry doesn't cave and he does, this time we wish he caved.
Yup, tough to argue with that

Crazy high QB salaries mean you have to skimp somewhere else. Offensive line? Defense? Receivers?

When a quarterback can fulfill all these roles himself, then he's worth the kind of money they're demanding now. Until then it's a team game.

As long as Jerry and his son are calling the shots it'll always be defense. Has been for a decade+.

Should have been resolved in 2019. It wasn't. And here we are. Getting ready to start all over again at the most important position on the team unless we pay QB1.

Yep, I believe they could have had him signed through 2024 on a 5 year deal for 125M. 135M tops

Is there a bigger "fake " Cowboys fan than Bayless? I remember him calling Aikman gay and of course throwing Dak under the bus. Real fans dont do that. Two idiots between him and Cowboys hater Sharpe

The extensions given to Zeke and Jaylon were not necessary at that time. Dak should have been the priority. It just cost them more now. They just need to get the deal done now and quit effing around.
