They offered 35 at 5, they can easily say if you want 4 years were only going to offer 33M, then let Dak decide if he wants the 4 or 5 year offers.

You have to take into account that if there's no fans in the seats the cap could drop next season and all parties know this.

They have already done that and Dak has said no lol. Dak saw how the Cowboys caved for Zeke. He holds all the cards right now. At this point Cowboys are going to have to offer more for 5 or offer $35M 4 years or else Dak will just wait for Mahomes to demolish the current QB market.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I said this a long time ago...Dak should've taken the deal DAL offered.

I think the owners will definitely use the new economic climate to suppress the '21 cap.
If we're going to use hindsight then Prescott should have held out in early 2019. I don't think the Cowboys put a good enough deal on the table for Prescott to accept. I don't blame the Cowboys for their stance. I think Prescott is, and has been, a very good QB in the #8 to #13 range. He's very consistent and if you go by his floor he's a top 5 QB. I'm just not convinced his ceiling is as high as most of the other top 20 QBs. It's tough for the Cowboys to sign a long-term deal with a player they might not absolutely be in love with.

I guarantee if not for the virus, yaks starting point was 37 per. Now with the virus and an expected lower cap, and dalton being there, he’d be wise to sign the current offer

No they didn't already do that. They have never offered a 4 year deal.
Do you have any clue how negotiations work?

Lol, I’ve done explained it, it’s the cousins strat all over again. Tagging a qb is a terrible mistake. It might actually work this time only because of the virus

he only knows what PE1's Magazines say. Not because he reads them but PE1 reads them to him as bedtime stories.

actually to clarify. Having a QB play on the tag is a mistake.
Tagging a Qb usually is just more time to get a deal done.

If they absolutely wanted him the extra time shouldn’t be needed

I've done explained it that the Skins were low balling the hell out of Cousins, on the other hand Dallas is offering to make Dak the 2nd highes paid QB.

Fact is if Washington offered Cousins the money to make him the 2nd highest paid player, he'd be a Redskin today.

That’s exactly what they said they offered was to make him the second highest player. Fact is not any of us actually know what either teams offer is.

that is just silly. No team just gives the player whatever they want.
This way it gives both sides about 4 extra months to play their head games with each other.

Great post...and I agree with most of it...especially the last sentence....but if the reports are true of an offer north of $30mil per...that should've been enough assuming at least 3 years were guaranteed.

Which was freakin insane!

Yes, he should've always signed the current offer and be 2-3 generation rich (if managed wisely) instead of just rich.

Dak isn't taking a 4 year deal for just $33M per year now that they have increased the 5 year offer to $35M. Do you not know how negotiations work or are you under some delusions that Dak and his agent will take less when the Cowboys show they are willing to offer more?
