Hindsight is 20/20, but I said this a long time ago...Dak should've taken the deal DAL offered.

I think the owners will definitely use the new economic climate to suppress the '21 cap.
Hell, in hindsight I'm betting Dallas wish they gave Dak his 2018 contract demand.

Yeah I'm not sure why the lost revenue this season and the potential salary cap ramifications of that lost revenue is not being discussed more. In the Cowboy's situation with so much money already allocated to a few players, and this does not even include the big deal Dak will eventually sign, COVID could play a much larger role with the Boys that with other teams.

I do believe Dak will blow up this year with all that talent to work with. But no I don't think he is as good as he will show so that means the Boys will have to overpay for a very good but not elite QB at a time when the cap may be going down.

Not sure why people keep bringing up the word elite. Most if not, no one is saying Dak's elite, but he has shown he is a Franchise QB, and he should be paid as such. Right now the ONLY Elite QB is Mahomes and thats if defenses don't figure out is no look passes.

sound points. IMO they could put nick foles at QB with zeke and win 11 games.
Then you obviously think Foles is better than Dak because they only won 9 games that year with Dak. If you are talking about this year coming up then I'd say the same thing unless you think they win 13 plus with Dak this. IMO Dak is so far better than Foles that a comparison is silly, but you may not feel the same way

At some point in time what he actually does on the field needs to start mattering as much as people's perceptions of him do. The guy has been very good and looks to be getting better as he proved last year he can carry an Offense.

Proved he can carry an offense? A healthy offense with a lot of talent that he carried to miss the playoffs?

Using injuries as an excuse is a Bitch move. No NFL team or player is healthy all year. Dak shouldn't even have been playing at the end of the year but he did because he is a man and a leader, unlike Wentz

and he bitch slapped your boy in every important category except interceptions but that's probably only because he actually threw the ball down the field...

his RB had almost 85 YPG and 12 rushing TD's.
So when you look at stats and see a RB ran for 85 yards you think "Wow, he carried the team today"? Without ever having seen a stat, I'll bet Zeke had more goal line carries last year than maybe all but a couple RBs

If you don't think Dak carried the Offense last year you didn't watch the Cowboys.

no, but i wouldnt say "my QB carried the team" if my starting RB finished 4th in the NFL in rushing. an example of a guy carrying the team is chrsitian mcaffrey. HE carried the panthers.
dak carries a bag on gameday, thats about all he carries.

Well our Center is already gone. Byron Jones last year was more valuable to the Cowboys than Zeke too. Truth is that Frederick wasn't really that great last year and didn't play the year before so it's been a while since we had great C play. I don't think the drop off this year will be too far below where Frederick was last year. He just wasn't the dominant, powerful, Hall of Fame caliber force in the middle that he was before his illness.
hope so. BTW Frederick might not have played as well physically, but the O-line was better with him in there. When he retired, many of the O-line mentioned all he brought to the line & will be missed.

Point being. We agree that losing Zeke isnt the end of the world.

A player carry a team despite injuries around them.

Dak though, despite talent around him and one of the best RBs in the league carrying the load could only get his team to 8-8

neither did tom brady, and he dragged teams with worse defenses, to super bowls. i mean, sergio brown started a SB for them on defense. 2011 pats, 15th ranked defense (21.4 PPG allowed). 13-3, superbowl, lost to NY.

2019 cowboys finished 11th on defense. 20.1 PPG allowed.

8-8

his record is way better than Wentz's since they entered the league. Here is where you flip flop again...go...

If it were only that simple. Cowboys lose, shame on Dak. Cowboys win, in spite of Dak. Rinse, repeat...

A. No one is saying Dak is elite
B. Dont think anyone is comparing Dak to Brady.

BTW last year. Brady was helped a lot by his defense.

like...any other QB in the NFL? i doubt its "in spite of dak" but saying he carried anything other than his bag into the stadium, is funny.

it is that simple.
